Yah. You should get the new GeForce 9600. I've heard it's really good for its price and it's just as good as an 8800 GT which is even more expensive.

well, the 9600 GT doesn't fall too far behind the 8800 GT, I think I read somewhere that it runs as fast as the 8800 GT, but i could be wrong. the 8800 GT also runs extremely hot, whereas the 9600 GT does not run as hot.

It does not run as fast as the 8800, and it suffers in enspeically RTS games (its as good in FPS games)... (have it from a danish website)

    Not even my laptop?

    Edit:

Whoa I was just looking at memories, and I didn't know RAM was that cheap to buy, any recomendations on what kinda memory and graphics card to buy?
Also note I'm not a gamer, I'm more of a artist which does include graphics, so something that can make my pc handle big 3D programs like Maya or 3DSMAX :]

Actually graphics cards made especially for 3D work is even more expensive than most gaming cards, the cheapest I've seen was around $400 and the best ones going over $2000. PER CARD. Unless you really need to make a ton of 3D artwork in a short time, you should settle for a normal card. Also you should get at least Dual Core, my favorite brand being Intel of over 2.3GHz clock speed. 2 GB of ram is prolly enough.
