Command Center Fortress Strategy

    This should hit air, but it doesn't have to do too much damage.

    The ability to hit air may be implemented because odds are it will not be cheap to upgrade to fortress. An interesting possibility is that the weapon strengths could be based on the fortress's current mode. For example while in grounded mode its weaponary defenses could deal more base dmg to ground units while dealing a lower amount of dmg to aerial units. On the other hand while air lifted it could deal a larger base dmg to aerial units while at the same time loses its ability to effectively dish out dmg to ground units. This is only speculation but will make the planetary fortress quite versatile while at the same time not OP.

    I'm sure in SC2, there would be an option to lock teams and then there will be no backstabbing!

    Yea those 2v2 games piss me off. Most of the time when I join a 2v2, I have a feeling someone is going to backstab me and it usually happens. rawr.

    oh and i'm sure the planatary fortress upgrade will have the same cost as mutating a hatchery into a lair and hive.

    I'm actually very interested in seeing it's damage range, that alone would make it easier to determine whether it is early or late tier.

    good point sir baron but if it can attack air then it would be worth less unless u brought in multipls which might cost a lot of money and gas to build so it might be a useless stratigy

    Using pure Planetary Fortresses as an attack plan is ludicrous! :O ... But that won't stop me from trying it, tee hee hee.

    I have to believe that it will attack both ground and air, the more I think about it. And come on, that gun is huge! It looks like that huge turret thing that you have to destroy in the first game. Damage output just has to be decent... however it will surely have a slow rate of fire and I don't think it'll fire while the building flies. Still not sure about that though, interesting stuff to talk about.

    I agree with you about how the damage output should be decent and about the slow rate of fire. Information still has yet to be leaked regarding its abilities however. For example it could carry an ability to lay waste to a specific spot the way Thor a similar ability but until we receive more information theres no telling how strong/weak this new addition to the "list of terran defensive structures" is.

    Perhaps, when upgrading a cc into a pf, it also gets a hp bonus?
    And it should cause some serious damage too, since its a upgraded Main!

    its been stated that PF gets an armor bonus, but health seems fesible too.

    I can see it now, players that are almost wiped out and don't want to give up hiding out in a corner with a lifted off plantery fortress and lifted off producing starports harassing the enemy :p.

    Yes!, that has also just been revealved, you can upgrade the starport to a (forgot what its called) but it allows you to produce air units while its lifted off and moblie. I'll try to grab the concept art and a few shots that have been posted for ya.

    new strat
    build one outside thier base along with bunkers. get a couple units to shoot their units, if thier dumb enough to follow lead them to the trap.

    yep, a bunch of siege tanks would welcome them nicely, especially when they are behind a pf.
    but, whats the point of building it outside their base when you instead can build it in your own base, then fly it there, and finally upgrade to pf.
