i suck at these things, i currently have a key, a note in a bottle, a doorknop and a note

i turned the safe to ten as the note said, but how do i open it now?

edit: ah, the "doorknobs" are batteries

anyways, i still cant open the safe, i have the weird cube thingie, a letter saying success, i have the laserlamp, the swiss army knife AND STILL NO IDEA HOW TO OPEN THE SAFE, i tried the numbers on both my notes, didnt work

maybe if i opened the second wallpanel, how do i do that?

The batteries are easy. There's one on the right side of the door sill, one is on the left side of the painting, and one is behind the light socket. You need the pocket knife for the light socket.

so i am guessing the code the laser projects is the safe combination

    so i got 1R44LXXR54

    and XX=53

but what do the R and L mean

i know nothing about safes or how to open them

... If you have the cube that means you have the laser pointer. Put the batteries in the laser pointer. Also how did you figure out the XX was 53?

the batteries need to go inside the laserpointer, if you use the laserpointer it will project a code for the safe, only the xx needs to be replaced by the number you found under the chair

O okay.. Well then R means turn it to the right for the specified number, and L means turn left for the specified number.

    My solution

    - Pressing the button beside the left wall panel will open it. Inside is a security panel consisting of a strip of 7 buttons which light different colours when pressed, cycling; Off-Orange-Blue-Pink-Green-Red-Cyan. A slot key is visible behind a little door, presumably to be released when the colour sequence is correct.
    - Also in the alcove is a corked tube.

    - a watch battery can be found on the lower left of the Leonardo da Vinci picture
    - a watch battery can be found on the skirting board to the right of the chair
    - a note can be found taped to the underside of the chair. It has a push button gesture and a clock in the 10" position.

    - the right wall panel is opened by holding the button for 10 seconds.
    - a gold bar is found in the alcove here.
    - This alcove is home to another security panel. This one has a grid of 3x3 small buttons and one large button which illuminate green on-off. However, when the large button is pressed, 6 small leds light up here one at a time in the order: orange-pink-green-cyan-red-blue. A key is visible behind a little door here too.

    - a silver rotary key, found at the right-back of the attache case.
    - The silver rotary key fits into the keyhole in the picture, underneath where the battery was found. When turned, this reveals a safe.

    - A black rotary key is found in the alcove with the safe.
    - The black rotary key will open the two locks on the attache case.
    - When the attache case opens, it reveals:
    - a manilla envelope, with a letter ":) Good Luck"
    - A cube with coloured faces.
    - A laser pointer.
    - A swiss army knife giving various tool options.
    - A locked money box requiring 3 slot-type keys to open. This can't be removed from the case.
    - A plate inside the case shows some letters in coloured squares: F-cyan, E-blue, C-orange, B-green.

    - The swiss army knife with the corkscrew option can be used to uncork the tube and release the note from within.
    - The note in the tube reads "XX = 16"

    - The swiss army knife with the knife option can break open the power socket.
    - The swiss army knife with the screwdriver option can remove the screws from the open power socket.
    - The open power socket chassis reveals a third watch battery.
    - The three batteries can be fitted into the laser pointer.
    - The working laser pointer projects a code: "7R35LXXR48L"
    - Using the previous code for XX=16, this reads "7R-35L-16R-48L"
    - Entering the code to the safe plays a chime. The safe contains:
    - A tone dialer, like what is used for telephones. It has sliders which change the sounds.
    - A nut spanner.

    - The nut spanner can be used to unscrew the bolts holding the chair to the floor. The chair can be moved to the side now. You get the 4 bolts, btw.
    - The gold bar will hold down the floorboard in the corner of the floor to the left of the painting.
    - The swiss army knife with the knife tool will cut the string holding the board.
    - Retrieving the gold bar, the floor panel can be removed. Inside you find an ultraviolet lamp.
    - Moving the sliders on the tone dialer one at a time until all 5 tones are high, the tone dialer opens up. Revealing another note with a code: c3 c1 b4 d2 _ _ _ _ , where _ is marker pen over the writing.
    - It also shows a diagram of the spanner being magnetised by a horseshoe magnet and used to retrieve something from the bolt holes in the ground.

    - Using the swiss army knife with the knife option on the speaker inside the tone dialer will release the ring magnet.
    - Stick the ring magnet to the end of the nut spanner, and insert into each of the 4 bolt holes, retrieving 4 pencil batteries.
    - Insert the 4 pencil batteries into the ultraviolet lamp to power it.
    - The uv lamp does NOT reveal the text scrubbed by the marker pen.
    - Using the uv lamp on the good luck note shows some lines linking pairs of the letters. G-D, O-C, O-U, L-K
    - Using the uv lamp on the gold block reveals some text: "GO=b2"
    - Using the uv lamp on the inside of the safe reveals some text "CK=c3"
    - Using the uv lamp on the open floor in the corner reveals some text "OD=a1"
    - Using the uv lamp on the open power socket chassis reveals some text "LU=d1"

    - Using the uv lamp on the wall above the attache case shows a square with a small circle beside it. On close inspection, pressing the circle opens a secret panel in place of the square. This has another security panel with a slot key behind a little door. This panel has a grid of 16 buttons with rows labelled 1-2-3-4 reading upward from the lower left, and columns labelled A-B-C-D reading from left to right.
    - Using the above info, we can replace the characters on the good luck note and pair them as indicated to get 4 more codes: b1, c2, a1, d3.
    - Illuminating 8 keys on this secret panel (c3 c1 b4 d2 b1 c2 a1 d3) will release our first slot key. :)

    - Using the uv lamp on the left security panel reveals some marks around the 7 buttons in the form of piano keys. The keys correspond to C-D-E-F-G-A-B.
    - Illuminate the notes as the plate in the attache case suggests: F-cyan, E-blue, C-orange, B-green. Our second slot key is released. :)

    - Using the uv lamp on the cube reveals dice dots: orange=6, red=4, cyan=2, blue=1, green=3, pink=5
    - On the right hand security panel, illuminate the keys in the positions of the dice dots, in the order of the leds:
orange(6)-pink(5)-green(3)-cyan(2)-red(4)-blue(1). Note that the 6,3,2 patterns can be entered in two ways each. Experiment. Successfully entering the correct sequence releases our third slot key.

    - Insert all three slot keys into the money box. Open the money box to reveal a door handle. Insert into door and out you go :D

Okay, I think you can open up the tone dialer where the wire goes.. Just need to figure out how. The magnet might be in there. As for the panel on the right. I believe it has something to do with that color cube, and I don't know how to solve it.

Also forgot to mention, there are batteries in those bolt wholes. Along with that to see past the ink if you put the batteries into the black light you get out of the floor you can see past the ink.

Another edit(sorry.) Just had another idea. What if you could magnetize the spanner with the speaker on the tone dialer? Don't speakers like that have very weak magnets?

Did you use the swiss army knife with the knife option? Did you click on the ring magnet in the middle of the speaker with that tool in hand?

My key doesn't unlock the attachment bag or whatever it is :p

    edit:
    got it >8D

but now I can't get the safe open, I used the correct code and then pressed the handle

edit once again: How was I supposed to know that you'd have to go back to "0" after each number :p

You don't need to go back to zero. I never did. However, it's easy to make a mistake on the safe, and the meaning of left and right is confusing when we're talking about rotation. :)
