I wonder what kind of knowledge he did get from them then. khaydarin crystals seem logical, as he knew how to use them. Obviously not the ability to pilot worldships(can you imagine zerg with highly advanced tech at their sides?)

 

Well, yes... both infested terrans and changelings have demonstrated the ability to use technology.

Kerrigan controls a space station over Char (and she uses the technology; specifically seen in StarCraft: Hybrid and the epilogue of Liberty's Crusade; also in her attack against Alpha Squadron in Queen of Blades).

But worldships don't seem designed for combat, since the xel'naga don't want to kill anything. (Or at least the incarnation of xel'naga that locked up the Voice didn't want to.)
