    lol

sarcasm is hard to notice on this forum. As with crashing, I've had my labtop for about 8 months now, and it's only crashed from the internet once. So I don't really see it as an issue.

I've used IE all my life, and haven't seen a problem with it.

Hmm, about that acid 2 test, why would you even want to pass that test. I mean, HTML 4? Almost every professional uses the XHTML version combined with CSS, that's all you need.

And why wouldn't PNG work correctly? Every image in a PNG format is showed perfectly in Firefox, for example, Lichking's avatar is in PNG format, and I don't see any big errors popping up when looking at it..

And about the use of data URL's, those see to show errors in every browser. Every time you go to a website where yuo can download stuff it says: "if this link doesn't work, use the other one", and most of the time you can see something like three of those links...

And CSS, I can't seem to find any errors with CSS in my browser, I use CSS for my own web pages to, but everything works just fine in Firefox...

So my question is... What part of the test does it really fail then?

That's what I thought, so why does BirdofPrey keep saying it does? I wish he was online right now so he could explain. I can't stand having errors in my system that I don't know of, it makes me... frightened... :p

Yes, but imagine a dirty parasite crawling around in your body, chewing on your intestens, hurting you from the inside... It might be there, and you have some suspicions about it, but you are not sure if it truly is there, so you cannot do anything about it.

Doesn't that scare you more than knowing it is there?

OK let me explain it to you.  The Acid 2 test is designed to see if a browser is compliant with what web designers want to use.  If the browser is compliant then it will show up Asa smiley face if not it will be a hideous red jumble.

Run the test in your browser and tell me what it looks like.

I dunno, the acid test shows up fine in my Firefox browser.... I see the whole smiley face...

In IE6 it doesn't work at all. The entire page is red. :D

    Lol. :D

I don't really think this qualifies so much as a browser battle as a one-sided browser slaughter.

I noticed. Everyone seems to be ignoring the existance of Opera and Safari in favor of showing disdain for all things microsoft

Firefox is by far the best and I'm not suprised that it is winning the poll.. however I use Opera.

Here's what Opera has that Firefox doesn't offer:

    • IRC included in the browser as a tab
    • Download as a tab
    • Be able to download torrents directly in that download tab
    • Mouse Gestures (once you get the twist, it's the fastest way to navigate)
    • Best way to zoom (with the ctrl + click the wheel = go back to 100%)
    • The super effective and versatile panel that is quickly toggled by pressing f4
    • Much better apparence customisation features makes Opera look exactly how you want.. everything is customisable
    • Opera can read the selected text with an optional plugin that really worths it.
    • You can give vocal commands to Opera.. like.. "back", "forward", "quit", etc... it's awesome but I find it slow.. but I guess it could be useful for some..

and now.. what Firefox has that Opera doesn't and which makes Firefox a better browser than Opera:

    • Most sites, compagnies, stuff, etc takes into consideration that a lot of people uses Firefox.. so they offer support for it. I mean.. when they offer support for a browser like.. how to enable the cookies or whatever... There's the IE way and the Firefox way but there's no Opera instructions.
    • The plugins are awesome
    • Search fonction looks better in Firefox and I don't understand why Opera can't do the same.

I do use Opera because I can survive without the cool stuff that Firefox offers and I noticed that at every update, Opera gets even cooler..

To everyone who never tried Opera.. I hope the cool features I listed will make you want to try it.

Question: What the hell is the problem with Safari conceptors? are they retarded? where are the friggen tabs? I mean.. even IE has tabs now!

Ok.. hmmm so.. the dude (or dudette) who voted for Safari has the best browser... could you explain me why? am I blind?? or.. are you?

    edit:

oh yeah opera takes much less ram than firefox.. and.. even if I said firefox is the best.. I still voted for Opera because.. well.. I support the awesomeness.

ohhhh yeah another edit.... my Opera tends to crash like 1/15 times I go on gmail through the speed dial.. weird bug.. but I kinda live with it..

ohh and I forgot speed dial has one of Opera's cool feature.

Because Safari comes with a Mac.

It is probably the same person who voted Macs are better than PCs

    @JBL:
Safari does have tabs, the tab bar is just hidden by default for 1 tab, and this can be changed in the preferences. On OS X, hit "command t" to open a new tab... I would imagine "control t" would work on any other system.

I use Safari when Firefox fails to load a page correctly. Most of the time on such pages Safari actually displays the page correctly.
