Never mind. If you don't understand my answer, then I guess I wasn't on the right track.

I thought I was on to something, but I guess I was never even close. I really have no idea. None whatsoever.

That's actually how I've been attacking it. I've been going at it from that angle, to find the relationship between the 5 known letters or establish a pattern.

But still quite a tough one I must say. No lightbulbs poppling up over my head(even if they are wrong ideas) at the moment. I'm completely clueless so far. Well, other than the "phone," but that's obviously wrong.

Back to the drawing board.

If you look at the key pad(number buttons) on a cell phone, each button has a few letters on them for inputting text.  Each of the 5 known letters, A F I L N, are on different keys in order.  A is on 2(a,b,c), F is on 3(d,e,f), etc.

I haven't established a pattern as to which number was selected out of each group of letters on a key, but I thought that was the right direction, but apparently not.  I was narrowing down the remaining 3 unknown letter to one out of P,Q,R,S(7 key), another out of T,U,V(8 key), and the last out of W,X,Y,Z(9 key).  1 and 0 have no letters on them.

I just noticed exceptions to the rule for the pattern I established.  Guess I gotta find something else.

If the hint can be described as "super," meaning it will pretty much be a give away, then I prefer that you don't give such a hint.  I think that's enough hints.

I'm thinking the letters themselves in the question unscrambles to final. The 5th hint just tells me that "final" means the final 3 letters.

I was trying to see if the letter were clues themselves like each had 3 lines to make the letter but I saw L so that didn't work.

Numbers prolly had nothing to do with this like it said on hint 1 (cause I just made the letters numbers to see if there were any patterns).

So that guess is my most logical one since it does go with all 5 hints but I'm prolly wrong lol  ^_^

EDIT: Actually now that I think of it and looking in the previous post that X is not even the correct letter... i'm prolly really wrong haha
