I think the nomads and predators aren't very appealing to the player...

 

^^ actually didn't someone on the forums post something about salvaging a while ago? any more senior members remember this?

 

Salvaging is also a Ripoff from the Unsummoning from the Undeads in WC3... many games done it already.

yeah, i remember that. that was a while ago.

and just because buildings can be sold doesnt mean that they are copying C&C, many games have this, even, as someone above me mentioned, WC3 with unsummon. And, as a difference from C&C's sell, any faction could sell in C&C, whereas only the terrans can sell in SC2.

 

How is the Predator replacing the Wraith when it only attacks air units (or so I heard..)? Wouldn't that make it more the replacement of the Valkrie?

 

Yeah, that is why people hate it, if it wasn't so cool looking, I would hate it. I hardly use them though.

 

It depends on what all attacks it can "block" and "reflect" if its only projectiles like missles Protoss is gonna have fun blasting them out of the sky.... and probably Zerg too although the stuff Zerg shoot are a type of projectile. I wonder if it will be good at destroying Carrier interceptors though.

The nomad looks ridiculous to me, I mean what is it a platform with clamps on it?

The Predator looks kinda cool though.

 

i think it will be able to intercept any ranged attack but it will only be able to intercept a certain number of attacks in a give tima frame.

 

Just remember, nothing is set and done. They will tweak and adjust. Even when it enters the beta stage there will be tweaking upto when the game is released. Just like in Starcraft further patching will tweak the game and if there will be an expansion (which I hope there will be TWO not one) there will be additional units and tweaks.


However, I suspect most of this will remain as is and the tweaks will be done to the units themselves and not the costs. Maybe some of the spawn rates.

 

Yeah, I want to know how they intercept damage or something? That is a strange ability, I want to know how it work. Is it like they activate a shield?

 

The shoot the projectile (whether it be a missle or energy) with a laser.

 

Well, switching gears back to the nomad, wasn't there a ship like it in the introduction cinematic for the original Starcraft? Weren't the terran doing some kind of salvage thing with it and something killed them? I might go check that out. It's been a long time since I've seen that. I very well could be mistaken.

 

Nomad looks butt ugly. Like it's abilities though!

Wow, predator has a range of 7? If I remember correctly, that's almost as much as the guardian's. Damn!

 

what the f? how come u guys don't like the predator? it's quite awesome looking. Also, i do hate the nomad... i do. But seriously, the predator!? it looks great, and i'm sure the interecept ability will be awesome, like shooting down the missles from a missle turret and all...

 

I like the predator, and according to the poll, most people on this forum do too. (Atleast the design that is)

 

Yeah, it just looks cool but it's AA attack is what is bugging people they already kind of have the viking when in air mode can already attack air units so there is not point in two air to air fighters.
And it is like the replacement of the valkerie which most people do not like.
