If anybody here has a beta key, or wins one via opting in through B.Net 2...

Post screenshots when it starts. For the love of all that is holy.

I think blizzard will tell us when the opting begins officially.

Also in case your curious karune has just confirmed that it is indeed fake, and a few other details.

I think the new Battle.net 2.0 will simply let you login into all of there newer games, diablo 3, starcraft 2, world of warcraft, unannounced mmo with one simple easy to remember account being your email address. and the Battle.net website will be somewhat like a Hub for all your games acesses login files, attributes, signatures, achievements, etc. and also allowing you to download all of your previous bought games over and over, kind of like EA's download manager or Valves Steam, without the "only able to download a game say 3 times".

Warcraft 3, Diablo 2, Starcraft I will most likely not be affected unless they release a patch that would allow for the new Battle.net 2.0. which i cant seem them doing since Starcraft II and Diablo 3 are on their way.

In the end the only difference for Warcraft 3 is that you can download it whenever you want off of the Battle.net 2.0 Hub.

I hope this helps furrer ;)

Any one knows if the "opt-in" beta is all country/state/province eligible? Remember in all the previous art contest they specified some cities out. Like if your from Quebec,Canada, you cannot win.

If anyone can post on b.net forum that question. I cannot find the info anywhere.

Just asking before I get my hopes on too fast again....

i have a feeling that kind of information will be announced as the SC2 Beta is actually officially announced, the Beta Opt-In Function on the new Battle.net Site is just a way of entering us into any beta they might have, the specific SC2 one has yet to be announced, though we all know its almost here.

-> Seradin I thought aplying it to WC3 would be very important for the gaming community though. That would be Blizzards only chance to save all that hacking/cheating/10x accounts in Warcraft 3 TFT. The funny part was when i logged on battle.net yesterday a small patch was downloaded not changing anything AND all the stats have been reset since a week without any anouncement from Blizzard.

@ Seradin : Not just for sc2 beta, but the opt-in option in general, there are obviously rules that will apply to that loto. I was wondering if anyone found them.

This means we're one step closer to SCII, Diablo III, WoW II (?) and maybe WCIV.

I'm glad that Blizzard has never made a bad game, and can keep the excitement for their games right up to the launch.

Also, when I saw that pic, I refreshed my B.net acc page like 6 times.
    Damn was right.

Every single beta that I have been in, at least 7 or 8 of them make you agree to a non-disclosure agreement to not post any content from the beta under certain penalties that vary between companies.

The reason they do is because the game is still not a finished product and giving away information on it such as media, stats, technical properties, or even saying that you are in the beta or talk about it besides other beta participates etc can give false impressions of the game etc. The beta is NOT gonna be the same as the retail product. Most people however that do violate this agreement don't get caught because it is very hard to know just who exactly is leaking information.

Personally, I honor the agreement out of respect for the company and understand why they do it.

Trust me, knowing things about whats in the beta besides basic things are not gonna help you learn more about the game if anything you'll be getting misleading information because most of the time betas have a lot of bugs, imbalance and technical problems and many things that change before the retail product is released.

...We can't even talk about it if we get in?

I can understand not posting huge essays and going through pixel by pixel of your screenshots...

im assuming itll be next to impossible to keep me from talking to my friends/ or you guys about the game lol..

and anything ill be doing is gawking at its awesomeness, and pointing out some errors to be discussed.

I would think it would be more profitable of them to have us discuss the changes in beta, just like we discussed changes in alpha.

It varies on the company, I'm sure Blizzard will allow a lot more discussion to go on.

However, I have been in betas that the company said you can not speak of or give any information what so ever on the beta except with other people in the beta. Or you would be violating the disclosure agreement. I have been in one were the company said it was punishable by law if they caught you violating the agreement.

I have no idea how Blizzard will do things however.

I am just describing how the majority of other companies have handled thier betas. Usually they have a private board or email address to which you discuss things about the beta and notify them about bugs/problems and other issues. Most of the time they do not want you giving this information out.

So majorwilly, you just have to wait to see what the agreement is when Blizzard releases the beta to know. As I said before though I think they will be much more open to discussion than other companies.

Also all these were all private betas that I was in, for Open betas they really don't care about any information you give out because its for the public to take part in.

Firstly, I hope I get a beta key.

Secondly, PancakeChef speaks the truth. Some of the NDAs are vicious to the point where they are just downright scary. I follow car news alot and some huge media outlets have been banned from ever testing X companies cars again just because they broke an NDA.

While this hardly confirms anything, it's atleast a hint that blizzard won't get all jumpy about leaked information during the beta. I wouldn't expect it from blizzard anyway, they play the fans too well.

I just noticed something strange, and I wonder if no one else noticed this. In a quote from karune, -seradine posted it in post no. 23 in this topic- he stated that unit readability has top priority. At least in multiplayer games. Why does he argree with having two different dark templar models spawning at random just a few lines below that statemen? Kinda weird, or does he know something we do not?

And about those beta invites being send out as soon as battle.net 2.0 was released: do those people at the battle.net forums still not realize that those forums are full of trolls? That is the reason why I came here and neve post there, and I think many others feel the same way. I really hope that there will be better moderators when all forums merge when battle.net 2.0 is completed, because now they are spending all their time on correcting fake announcements instead of helping people.
