The beta itself isn't region specific so I don't really see how it would be limited... however global players may be working off US servers as from the intentions the team have relayed to us is that the US is the primary market along with Korea.

Joneagle's statement is along with what I've heard as well. The players are allowed to be in the beta from around the world but they'll be running off the particular servers which are operation at that time. So, there may not be an Asian or European server when it first starts.

When did Blizzard say that they would allow people to post things from the game? Plenty of betas have nondisclosure agreements that say if you release any video or pictures of the game you will be banned from the beta. I just want to mention this so people don't get too hopeful for a bunch of new content coming out soon. I hope that it isn't the case, but it is always best to temper expectations.

    Q&A
Q:Comincierà per tutti o , per come si era detto , prima per Usa poi nuova zelanda ecc.. per poi arrivare da noi? E più o meno quante persone avete intenzione di selezionare?

(Shows appreciation) Will Beta be released in phases still or is it a global release?

God forbid, I am here on purpose. Then, the objective now is to release the beta "globally" , Then simultaneously in all regions. Qualorao this is not possible due to unforeseen problems, the Beta for Europe and Italy arrived in each case a very short distance (even a few days, not talking about weeks). But again, our plan is currently in Beta release simultaneously in all regions by the end of the month.

    Also
Post 6: Just in case any of us want to create some videos for YouTube ... may we share any replays?

Zhydaris: There will be no NDA.

Not necessarily. There's a subtle difference between what Joneagle and I have heard and what Avarius said. If you're still in need of the answer then I would check the posts that Avarius was replying to.

    @ Ronin,

Let me clarify that. A global release means players from other continents will be allowed participation in the beta but will not necessarily be supported with regional servers.

A player in the UK might be forced to play on a Blizzard server in Illinois or Texas depending upon the availability of servers for Battle.net 2.0. Don't forget they also must continue to manage the servers for Battle.net 1.0 and World of WarCraft.

I have a question...kind of off topic because now everywhere is about BETA :)
The sensor tower from Terrans how it works?
In warcraft 3 for example if a unit/building is underattack and you are not there with the screen a minimap beep alerts you and give you the location to focus there.
Now the sensor tower will work likewise? Notice you if some movements have been detected?
    It will be cool

    Shellshock,

Definitely not the topic for this question. Use the forum search and post in a related thread. There are bunches of Q&A threads. But no, there is no audio or visual cue when your Sensor Tower detects an enemy. Only when one of your units is engaged or a building is attacked.

Yes it's nice Blizzard is doing an international Beta. Makes me really excited. But does anyone know of their feelnigs towards OS X and beta. WIll they have an OS X version of the beta? Or must I fire up the bootcamp to use the beta?

The question has been asked for ages. No current plans for Mac support for the beta. To me that means it won't be supported until release.

They may have a very limited Mac beta but I'd assume all their OSX testing will be internal.

They want it tested on a wide variety of configurations, right? My comp is pretty fast except for the video card which is only 128 mb, the lowest vid card requirement. Otherwise im 3.06 ghz, 2 gigs of ram.

If you go to your battle.net account their is now a tab for the Starcraft 2 beta. Click it and shows you your registered system specs.

@Joneagle: That's how I understood it when I read the FAQ. Not that that means anything :D

thats a nice setup. My system shuold be able to run to it. Just a matter of being picked. I think i heard that they would choose people with different hardware configs. They like to make games that work on everyones computers.

@Muncie16: I'd say your system would be a disadvantage in this case. They already know the game is going to run great on a high-end PC. What they want to see is the stability and optimization of the code on a wide variety of PCs from crappy third-world standards to the average PC.

Also, why did you go with 12GB RAM? You're not going to ever use that for gaming for at least another five years. Plus, you should've gone with the i5 750 because it's cheaper but still faster.

@Ronin: Whether or not you know this but you did hint that you cared about servers due to the post you replied.
