Nope. There's RTS and TBS. I prefer TBS myself, cause I can do other stuff at the same time.

Where only cool people live... So Cal!
I personally thought Rome: Total War was better...it truly made me feel good to bring glory to the nations that I did :)

Anyways, The best one in my opinion is World in Conflict....I have not been this amped up for a game since Rome: Total War. I am seriously addicted to it, it ended my game slump that I've been having. :p It's easily one of the top 3 games in my book

Next is obviously Rome: Total War....easily makes it to the top 5. It always feels so good to get a great match going on multiplayer on that. Can't wait for Empire: Total War to come out...naval warfare's gonna be siiiiiiiiick!

Yeah. Gunbound sucks. It has a very low mobility, you can only go a few centimeters from the original spot. So lame...

    Mmmm...
    TBS is good.
So is RTS. I've always been equal. It really depends of my mood, I suppose. RTS are fun becasue you have to decide on a whim, quick and fast. But TBS you often get a momnet.

The best TBS game I ever played was Baten Kaitos. Granted, it's for the gamecube, but the strategy system was good. It's like....A game for the gods. it;s new and unique and full of betrayal. Plus it's storlyine is genius.

Final Fantasy Tactics: Advance - This game will suck up time like crazy. I'm serious, every battle lasts 20-30 minutes, and you completely lose sense of time as you play.

Sid Meyer's Alpha Centauri - It is basically Civilization, but with a future+alien planet theme. This game, and this is a massive understatement, will also eat up time.

Battle For Wesnoth -Very deep gameplay, free. Free!

FFTA: I heard it sucks, at least compared to regular tactics
Wesnoth: Played it long long ago, not sure if it was alpha or beta already, but I'm pretty sure I would have to learn the gameplay from scratch ^^ It was fun though

final fantasy tactics is a pretty addictive game
at first glance u think its a waste of time but when u start playing u just wanna lvl up and get new items and
    complete the story.
the new one on DS is even better

Final Fantasy Tactics was originally on PSX I think and remake is on PSP
FFT: Advance (GBA) had original storyline and judging by title the DS one is sequel to it, not remake
