Golden Sun owns all other handheld games. It really is the best I've ever played on one. The Djinns rocked, I still remember summoning Judgement for the first time... Sigh...

But the Elder Scrolls 3 would have to be my first choice for PC, it was so large, I almost freaked out when I installed the expansions. ;D And with so many great mods available you just keep playing.

I am a big fan pf RPGs and have played a lot of them.not japanese RPGs like final fantasy, which fights are decided by turns,i like games were you can control your character in fights. and talking about those i cant immagine a better than Gothic III.
the atmosphere is absolutely inmersive, the world is huge and beautifull, there are no load times, quest are extremely funny and never get repetitive, the history and background comes from both previous gothics and even without playing those the plot is extremely innovative and well done.as i said, the best RPG game ever made.

it has a big flaw, though.and this flaw has kept it from being known as one of the best if not the best RPG ever made: its very bad programated. it has quite a lot of bugs and requires an extemely powerfull computer to run properly.but with the adequate patches,a good computer and saving a lot of times i can really say that i didnt encounter so many bugs and those who i found could be easily avoided/repaired with help from the forums,as it has a deep community even years before of its launch.

i give you here the site in case you want to play it:
    http://forum.jowood.com/forumdisplay.php?s=dda30da6f6be04d5e7fb7549f89c5912&f=254

    really a must have game.

Gothic 3 is the top RPG for me too, altough i didn't complete it ,yet. The looks and feel of the game are just so great, but as has been said, it needs a good computer to handle all that goodness. When i got my new graphics card and then launched gothic 3 i was staring at the scenery for hours with mouth wide open .
One might say that Oblivion looks better. My opinion is that both games have their own graphics style, so they really can't be compared on that side. I love to play Oblivion ,too, ( didn't complete this one either, i'm keeping myself busy with doing all the side quests [which are sooo bloody great story wise :D] ) .
Planescape Tornment was too slow for me , didn't like Baldurs Gate , fable was boooring, but KotOR 2 was great fun, i can still remember some of the quests ( of course i was on the light side :D ).
    Summa sumarum, Gothic 3 FTW ! =)

I like the Diablo and Baldur's Gate games too, but my favorite has to be one of the Final Fantasy games. I have played VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, X-2 and XII. I think FF7 had my favorite story (I have played it for many hundred hours) but I like the world in FF9 better. FF8 was different but very fun. FF12 is very nice but I haven't gotten very far...
