    My thoughts of BR3

    * Perhaps the zerg needs to opt for hydra or mutalisk in that game, the way I see it, any protoss player can instantly end a game if they managed to pull off a warp in from a p. prism in an enemies main base,.

    * The neural parasite dictates that the colossus is a bio-mechanic unit much like the dragoon in SC1 being susceptible to attacks that affects only the organic units i.e. spawn broodlings.

    * Somehow the protoss managed to farm more than a zerg player even if it was the zerg who got the 1st expansion up... the obelisk drastically outperformed the zerg economy by itself without the waste of more resources to go for workers unlike the Zerg which obviously dictates an imbalance...

    * No matter how much number the zerg larvae is, the costs of producing drones compared to making obelisks/mules is quite impared... in the long run, the other races will definitely have the upper edge against the zerg... (just imo, we'll see more of that once beta comes out) a bonus in supply any day is a always bonus for the terran and protoss..

    * Now that darkswarm is gone how can the zerg compensate for its loss? Those 4 infestors the Yeon-ho produced didnt changed the tide of the battle as effective as it could have if it still had the d.swarm, but still it might be the experience factor that made David won...

    * I like the idea of getting more queens for the extra larvae and defensive structures which we didnt see much of...

    * Overall we didnt see much of the zergs potential, we didnt even have a glimpse of a single air unit besides the overlord in action, the transport system for the zerg hasnt been used (either it be the Overlord or Nydusworm), I believe that the zerg player wouldve won if all his units were zerglings during some circumstances, but yes he was outplayed from the start that somehow made his economy suffer a lot...

Not so, Neural Parasite does not mean that the unit under its effects are bio or mechanic, Probes are completely robotic, yet its been said here(more of hinted at, but you get the idea) that it can work on them, they just need to change the name of the ability and supply decent lore on how it works.

I agree with the people who said it should be like the old Queen's Spawn Broodling ability and only work on non-robotic units. "Neural" means having to do with the brain or nervous system, and it would make sense that a "Neural Parasite" works by gaining control of a host's brain/nervous system. For units like the Probe and Colossus, this doesn't make any sense.

Not a well-defended main base. You need a lot of Warp Gates to Warp In a lot of units at once. I think most players won't go much past 8 or so, meaning direct attacks are still a lot more efficient.

It may just be that Neural Parasite works on all units, just like Mind Control did in SC1, even though not all units had "minds."

The Protoss player had more workers the entire game. They mention it in the commentary multiple times. It wasn't the Obelisk that caused the income gap, but the number of workers. This wasn't a racial problem, but brought about by player inaction.

There are a lot of Zerg units that are now better at taking damage. The Roach, the Ultralisk, Neural Parasite pulling attacks away from your units, Broodlings from Brood Lords, pulling attacks away from your units, the Corruptor, again, pulling attacks away from your units. They've basically taken the idea of "a swarm of tiny creatures" (Dark Swarm) and implemented it with actual units.

The fact that Mind Control worked on all units in the original Starcraft despite being called Mind Control actually really bothered me, hahaha.

zerg player should have gone for a spawning pool before the expand on a map that small, ultimately I think that probe harass at the beginning really won the game and getting a couple lings out fast would have prevented that. Also the zerg player never teched up really, his only unit past T1 was the infestor. I can't believe he didn't go for mutas or hydras as soon as that phoenix appeared. Also I really don't think anyone knows how to counter the phase prism yet...warp prism is SO powerful.

I believe that the Zerg player would have won if he microed his Roaches during that all out battle against the Stalkers. He had like 3:1 Ratio yet he ended up losing. The Protoss player was microing his blink very well and buying time until he could warp in more reinforcements. On the other hand, the Zerg player should have microed his roaches by burrowing them when they were focus fired or almost dead. While doing that, he should have massed a bunch of zerglings and charged in along with the Roaches. Those roaches with burrow micro would probably buy enough time for the Zerglings to arrive. If the Zerg player did that, I believe the Zerg player would have won the game right there.

Why is it every time we see banelings in action the zeg player uses them all at once? It seems as effective as telling your scourge to attack move into a cluster of air units in BW. Yeah I know splash damage makes a big difference but at 200gas for a kamikaze upgrade don't you want the biggest bang for your buck?

Anyone else hate the baneling tech building btw? The look of it that is.

Why all the fuss over neural parasite affecting robotic units? The name can be changed....if change is needed change the name not the mechanic. I love the SC lore, but game play beats rock, paper, and lore. Not scissors tho.

The map looks like great fun and a nice F U to people who have been saying SC2 is uninovative compared to games like DoW and CoH.

    Great battle report overall.

yeah... dont believe BloodHawk, unless you follow that sig of his as truth.

Banelings cost 50 Minerals and 0 Gas, combine with the cost of Zerglings and taking into account that Zerglings comes in 2, Banelings cost a total of 75 Minerals and 0 Gas each.

Ych, I agree with what you said about how he should of Microed his Roaches against the Stalkers, that battle would of delayed the Stalkers a lot longer and or come out with his Roaches as victor.

    According to sc2wiki, it's only 50 minerals.

So getting a bunch of Banelings is dirt cheap!

Especially the 0 gas is brilliant, because then you can use your gas for high-tech units instead?

    I still have some questions:

How does the queen work now? Other skills than the larve skill?

What does a Roach cost? 75-25?

The battle between stalker and roach during that game coulve gone either way... but obviously the roaches just didnt have enough support from zerglings to get the job done... David did microed the stalker well and Yeon-ho couldve possibly borrowed his roach if he can but somehow he forgot to do so and at some point the focus fire of the stalkers are too much for the roaches to take...

bloodhawk definitely means the 4 lings costed 200 gas,..

I think stalkers counter roaches nicely (blink against slow low range units and focus fire against hp-regen), but zerglings perhaps with a bit support would take them down like dragons in scbw.

What I would like to see is some baneling speed. Obviously they are cheap as hell, and this way the zerg could be sure to get more kills on running units. (And we get to see that cool rolling animation!)

I don't know about 200 gas...where's that source from? the wiki and sc2armory both say 50 mineral but those aren't always completely up-to-date.

anyway, I'm just happy we've seen the zerg put on a better performance, even if they still lost.
