Im sure the developers are not done with all the small details yet, but 'm quite eager to see smooth animations of drones turning into buildings and larvae turning into eggs rather than just suddenly turning into something else magically.

    Battle report 3 was awesome!!!

Is it just me, or is it that the zerg are much weaker than the other races in SC2?

Waiting for it to load now.

One point that I thought....for the Drone to turn into a building...I was thinking of another animation that would work pretty well. It first starts out as a little building shapped thing the same size as the drone. As time passes, it grows slowly. That way it will give people a better idea of the % completion the building is *Ala the Terran buildings*.

Nothing really important, by any means, just kinda hit me as something that would be pretty nifty and helpful.

NEarly all of those battles are 1 kidn of unit against another... like zerglings against nullifiers and stalkers against roaches.

that was a great match the entire time i didnt know who was going to win it looked like it was anybodys game the zerg was making some great plays and those infestors are crazy good.

I think the infestors are insane and i loved his use of nullifiers.

Man I can't wait until I get off work so I can go home and watch this!! It makes me very happy that Blizzard did not wait eons between Battle Report #2 and #3 like they did between the first two.

And of course it doesn't even need to be said, but I am getting more and more excited for this game every day!

    Very Good
    2 thumbs up.
    nullifiers own with forcefield :D

PS: near the end when the zealots destroyed the 3rd expansion, there was a unit being morphed called a Mantaling, the picture looks kinda like a drone but it sez Mantaling?

    Whats with that?

I've already suggested that feature in connection with hiding building identities (because if you see the progress bar then the changing size becomes redundant). Have a read here.
100% agreed. I cringed when I saw that happen. I really hope Blizzard will make robots immune to abilities clearly needing a biological victim, like they did with broodlings in SC1.

As for the video, it was very fast paced and also the energy pools must've been rigged for the video because I highly doubt temporary mind control and force field would cost so little that it could be used as often as we've seen. I don't really know why the Protoss gives up on zealots though... they're clearly better counters to zerglings than stalkers, and why Mr. Kim brought out immortals is just beyond me.

The phoenix has received no work at all and looks very out of place, especially in the movement and attack animation departments. I don't mind this, I'm just a little surprised that the amount of attention paid to units is not close to equal.

I'll be sure to download the HD version and watch the match again.

Since I suck at using the quote function...this is a response to the previous thread

Probably didn't want to bore audiences with one type of unit. I'm sure David Kim knew the game was his, and therefore started sending in random unit combos to show off units. (Was it really necessary to lift up and queen and phase prism it to death? He didn't use those units very far beyond that) I agree about the phoenix though. Everything in the game needs a once over on art before they even release beta.

is anyone else concerned about the zerg? how come the zerg player didnt use razor ability from the queen. i mean the man had 3 or 4 at one point?? didnt have an overseer to scout or nothing. this was either a bad zerg player or zerg our still behind the other races.

Dragon God: I think the Mantalings are the units that spawn when structures die.

kuvasz: I don't think the energy was modified. There were four Infestors on the battlefield, and I don't think Neural Parasite is permanent, so it probably doesn't cost as much as the Mind Control in SC1. On the video, the second Neural Parasite was used 1:40 after the first, which, even if there weren't a second pair, may have been long enough to recharge enough for a second cast.

i2new: You're saying it yourself- the player wasn't using the units as well as he could have, the commentators pointed out his relative lack of income. It doesn't sound like something wrong with the race.

He did make some nice movies with Neural Parasite and Banelings, but David Kim just outplayed him.

wuffle: if the Queen could move, she could move out of the Void Ray's range (resetting its attack) or simply wail away at it (the Queen has a GtA attack). The Graviton beam assured that the Void Ray had the upper hand in that fight.

Would have liked to see more air, and of course archons and ultralisks. I loved the graphics its exactly how I would picture SC2 in my mind. I still want to see the new guardian in action.

    Ahh, ok.
The zerg player should of burrowed zerglings around his base
when he had the chance, it would take the protoss a bit of time to make the cannons etc but would give him more time. or just use the infestors to annoy him more.

Well we've been told time and again that HP, shield, and energy regeneration have been ramped up considerably in SC2. I'm willing to bet that the energy regeneration system works in a similar manner to HP and shields, albeit slower.
