No not really. The only amazing part was that I did it after all the resources on the map were exhausted even though their bases (especially the ones only accessible by air) were surrounded by spore colonies, photon cannons, or turrets.

    Because:
See, people think that things that they can't or haven't done are super totally amazingly awesome. Part of this is probably because they think they are super totally amazingly awesome and anyone that can do something that they can't must be super totally amazingly awesomer at that thing. So, chances are post people haven't tried/can't for some reason and therefore think I'm super totally amazingly awesomer for doing it.

*grabs popcorn and a rootbeer float with some candy* anyway, i wish i could beat 7 comps.
i also really hope they refurbish the menu for battle.net. instead of little squares that say: Create. Join. Channel. etc. make it more animates like wc3 tft, and even more. like a sort of cinematic that they make for the background. as well as the stars for the ranking. Icons ftw!

    From:
    Canada, eh?
When I was at my peak with Terran the most I beat alone were 4.

Icons would be a fun little "oh gee what did I get in my goodie bag?!?" like touch.

The most comps i ever beat solo with no cheats was 5 on those perfect maps, where the resources are sitting on your base pretty much, with terran and against 4 comps with zerg and protoss. anyhow, my Bnet ideas::

With Clans: it would be awesome to have a militray like break down of clans, sort of a league order. there would be the head or top of the pyramid of the clan, the battalion. and it would break down into smaller groups, lets say like from battalion down to company, to platoon and down to squadron. this way leaders of a squad would report to their platoon and all leader of squads would be in platoons and platoon leads in their company and so on... probably too complicated and would make clans need to be huge, but then again if you would imagine the starcraft universe, across so many worlds and systems, its big out there.

another idea would be race specific clans/groups, like lets say the Terrans would have their clans break down in Squads, the Protoss into Tribes and the Zerg into Broods. it would make clans be more unified and then Bnet could host wars like elite Terran Squads VS. Protoss Tribes....ye so you might get it...

another feature i would like to see on Bnet is a mix of W3 and SC1 reg games, in SC1 you could browse all games and choose to your liking, in W3 a Bnet engine would search a game for you "according to your skill" which didnt always work out. If Bnet had a system where you could fill out a filter and then accordingly Bnet would search for certain games according to a much more sensible skill system and let you choose games it would be cool.

Oh don't even get me started on the skill calculator for WC3. There was some huge complicated system that I think ended up just being mostly based on your win/loss percentage.
So when I was level 26 and was about 170-100 (win-loss) (62%) I was getting placed with people who were level 2 who were like 2-3. That doesn't even sort of make sense.
And I never understood how people could get ridiculously bad ratios like 10-40 on team games. Even if you try a little your team should be able to get a win more than half the time.
But then I've won 4v4s when my entire team has left at the very beginning of the game so I guess I don't know how much people can truly suck.

honey, that's why you play solo.
that's like in WCIII. There is Chieftain, Shaman, Grunt and Peon. To gain any of those except you start as peon, you have to wait 7 days.

I was going to put this topic in with Elemen's Bnet discussion but that thread was getting pretty big and I didn't want a new idea being lost in it.

Here it is though, hopefully it hasn't been talked about. If it has just close the thread. Anyways, I was thinking about the serious lack of clan/guild support in Bnet, aside from WoW. I didn't play WC3 online so I couldn't say if they had anything for it. If they did then hopefully it will be in SC2 as well. Still, I really hope Blizzard incorporates a formal system with which to join clans/guilds or create them. I hated having to create a new profile just to have my clan/guild logo or whatever. This way you could have your own chat room with a password, have colored clan/guild logos, clan/guild profiles, etc.

Anyone else think this is a crucial idea or have any ideas/concerns?

I'm not in a guild/clan either but I would be far more inclined if they had a good system for it. It would be a great way to meet and set up matches. I would also say they should have some sort of a bulletin board so that you can put up meeting times or practices.

WC3 has a clan system with a Chieftain (leader), Shamen (officers), Grunts (grunts), and Peons (new people). You need 10 people to make a clan I think. But there is plenty of support for it. There is also clan rankings in the different ladder games.

I figured they had to have something by then but as I said I never played it online... I didn't like the way the game played. I'm more an armies kinda guy instead of having a hero. To each there own I guess.

I'm glad to hear that they have a separate ladder. I was going to mention that as well. Hopefully that will make it's way into SC2. I would love to go 4v4 or 6v6 (If that's the player limit) with my guildmates by my side and have it show on the ladder.

I personally don't like clans and would rather just play on my own whenever I feel like it. But since lots of people like clans, I'm sure they'll include even more clan support.

What I really would like to see is strong integration between Battle.net and the Web - like an XMLRPC interface (basic messaging between programs on different Internet servers). The old Battle.net had a rudimentary gateway service which allowed you to set up very basic chatbots, which was cool at the time, but far from satisfactory today, in my opinion - especially in a sci-fi setting.

    Some initial ideas:
    • Data import from clan websites into a standard in-game interface - for clan bulletins, match calendars etc.
    • Data export to websites - rankings, player presence status etc.
    • Player messaging between Battle.net and websites
    • The ability to set up and start a game directly from a website - for customized matchmaking services
    • ... the list goes on endlessly

I think all of those are good except for setting up and starting a game from a website. This seems quite unnecessary.
