yes you will have that unlimited supply of gas, but this mechanic is only one way. minerals into gas. and thats what a lot of people are having problems with, trading a limited resource for an unlimited one.

most of the units need more cristal than gas. except some units which uses lots of abilities but no attack use more gas.

The huge units need gas but still more cristal. anyway we need to be far in the game to use huge units

well i dnt know about you guys but i generally hear "we require more minerals" more than "we require more vespene gas"... its as simple as that... even when I expand... the only time i hear "we require more gas" is when I'm cleaning up Terran body parts off my creep...

I don't want to sound like an old coot, but I don't see what was wrong with old mechanic. I mean, look: we all still play StarCraft 1 to this day, over ten years after it was released, so why suddenly decide the very base of the game sucked enough to be changed?

ok i know that this is a bit old now, but i want my opinion in before it is sent off to Blizzard. sorry for any inconvenience

What new strategies and choices do you think the player would have and have to make with the new Gas Mechanics?

the choices that i see that becomes available to the players is when to get gas or more gas. it becomes crucial to choose the right moment to get more gas. but at the same time it becomes just a button that you have to press or your screwed, from that its just a chore.

How do you think this change will effect Zerg, Protoss and Terran?

i see very little changes besides what i said in the above question.

Do you like or dislike the change? Why?

    i loath it.

its a mechanic that becomes a chore. and doesnt solve the very late game problem, in fact it just worsen it, for in late game minerals are what is most needed not gas, every unit and building cost minerals and not gas, need it must be pointed at that minerals is a limited resource, and that gas is not? and so what it leaves us is little minerals and loads of gas, with this mechanic, you have just wasted hundreds of minerals just to get gas that you would have gotten anyway.

people keep on pointing at its like paying money to dig further to get more oil in real life, but that isnt the case, the major difference is that in real life, oil is a limited resource, and gas is an unlimited one. if we put this mechanic in the real life, it wont be used. it would be like paying gold to have the air we breath but dont need to be payed for. we exchange money for more oil because money is an unlimited resource, that is why we have inflation, and oil is a limit resource that we need. but in the game gas is not a limited resource that we need, there should be no need to pay minerals to get more gas, imo, it would be better if you reverse this mechanic so that way, minerals wont run out in game. some may say its like C&C a little, but you can make it so that when a certain % of mineral is left on the map is when this mechanic becomes available.

Short Answer : i see the possibility of this mechanic, but it doenst make sense in econ. terms, and would very much like it to be removed.
