Well assuming your not flying accross countries, the ip addresses could be similar among other things, it wouldn't be impossible to catch you, lets put it that way.

 

All the places I mentioned are at varying distances from my place and at varying ISPs, so the only thing you'd be able to gather is that they're from the same country. And since there are people who register here for the news but never post, you can't just delete any account you suspect to be a duplicate one.

 

I could actually fly overseas and make an account . Not that I will, but I can. There's no way to know if they're duplicates or not. In fact I'm going to be traveling to two other countries over the summer, staying at many different places.

 

You sure about that kuvasz? Inactive accounts without posts have been cleansed a couple of times, they are not exactly difficult to spot. Also, we can play what if games all night long but, is there any good reason to not have refferals besides potential abuse? Its my and the rest of the mods job to try and prevent abuse I don't see how this could be any different than any other bug that's being abused or duplicate account situation.

 

If they find you out it will be noe different than if they find out you are padding your posts for minerals.

It's different because there's a reward for doing it, simple as that. It might be a little risky but I don't think I need to go into details about how desperate some people are to get bonuses.

I don't know what you mean by inactive accounts. If I logged in every once in a while, I could also post something, don't you think?

And I'm not playing what if games here. If you can't see that I'm trying to make this place as good and fair as possible by pointing out loopholes, then I'd better stop.

That spoiler option is going to be incredibly tempting. There should be some rules not to use them for jokes, like above, or for anything else that could disrupt how they're supposed to be used, and they're supposed to be used as a spoiler. If people think they're being used as jokes then they'll look and if they look and it genuinely is a spoiler then they're going to get angry and that's when bad things start to happen. There should definitely be rules on including spoilers.
