    You should build Engineering Bays/Forges/Evolution Chambers so you could upgrade both attack and defense. As Protoss you'll want to upgrades shields early because it applies to buildings and units and without it, shields take full damage from all attacks.

    It is actually possible for an attack to do 0 damage when large amounts of armor are involved. You don't see it in normal gameplay, but you can have a unit attack another unit several times before it does even one damage. I believe one of the few cases where you'll see this happen is with an unupgraded Zergling attacking a fully upgraded Ultralisk. The Zergling will actually attack twice before dealing damage. I've seen it a number of times on UMS maps where units have high armor and low attacks.

    (I learned this when trying to find out how long it would take a such a Zergling to kill such an Ultralisk in combat, it takes something like five minutes, because of the high HP of the Ultrliask, the armor, the Zergling's weak attack, and the Ultralisk's regeneration.)

    Lol, a minute later, it deals a damage and the zerglings all yes! And starts moonwalking, and the ultralisk just regains it's Hp.

    @Neon-10
    This also happens when Marines attack Larvae and eggs, but I could be wrong.

    I imagine that is the case too. It is one of those rare situations where the armor level is higher than the attack level.

    Throw morphing eggs onto that list as well.

    Ya.... It's pretty intense stuff... But I suspect it'll be even more intense for SC2, leik, in Dawn of War, I think that a testing team found around 600 different things that damage/armor and stuff are subject to.

    i think the firebat has 3 strikes in one attack

    when i make UMS maps and i configure the firebats settings, youll notice the MAX hit or something like that to be 3, if youll notice zealots, they only have 2, same for goliaths

    Wait, so can a unit miss the second or third hit? I still find it strange that zealots can even attack my vulture when it is already four zealots away.

    Actually for what Neon Said, It's every other attack that does one damage. So a Zergling attacking an ultralisk would do 1, then 0, then 1, then 0 damage. That applies any time the armor is equal to/greater than the damage inflicted per shot.

    One thing I had a problem with in SC was that armor was always upgraded by 1. You couldn't change that as the creator of a map.

    I believe the firebat attacks like the zealot. Two shots at half the given damage. And You cannot miss. Once you've started, the whole damage is inflicted.
