    Yes it would, apart from the fact that you can pretty much have unlimited overlords

    has anyone tried massing ghosts + medics + vessels?
    or corsairs + dts + obs?
    or mutas + defilers?
    hard but really funny lol

    Yes, you would have 400 drones total, exceeding the population max by 200. You could max out on something other than Drones, say Hydralisks, while the hatcheries morph, but I used drones just to keep it simple.

    It is an extreme case, because building 200 Hatcheries and 200 control worth of units before the first Hatchery finishes morphing would require ungodly micro. I've tried it, on slowest even. I'm just not that fast, but it is doable when hatchery build times are artificially increased via UMS.

    I hadn't tried clicking on a critter to see if they do a nuke explosion. However, I did it last night and it took like 20 clicks but it did happen. It kinda scared me cause i was doubtful and impatient lol

    josh, exactly how many ways to pass the cap do you want me name? because it's already been answered three different ways.

    uhm. any way possible actually. but my question was how many is the REAL limit of max cap. and the answers aren't even near the real limit.

    you can MC an enemy scv/drone. build a base with them and max out the cap for them. then do it again with the race you didnt MC. that puts you at 200/200 + 200/200 + 200/200 = 600/200

    okay. since its been a long time, i'll answer it.

    i got to create a unit capacity of 8470 in all and i guess this is the REAL MAX CAP.

    Oh, the map max, not the unit cap. The unit cap is applied to individual players, while the map max is approached by all units on the map. I didn't understand that that's what you wanted.

    I am not sure what the fundamental max is, because it includes not only units, but structures, weapon sprites (like missiles), resources, and units in storage, such as Scarabs in Reavers. The real max is probably a bit higher than your number, taking into account the non-unit units. At any rate, it is different for different maps.
    I have hit the map max (the point when the game starts saying "Cannot Create More Units," the dreaded CCMU) dozens of times, it isn't really anything special for most StarCraft players.

    I don't know why you'd qualify knowing an approximate map max as something someone might not have seen or done: it's something they might not know, or know exactly, which is a lot more vague. I don't know how many Zerglings it takes to defeat an Ultralisk either, but stuff like that is not what I'm looking for.

    oh. so a 256x256 map has a map max of 8470. ok i got you.

    but i have only tried this using staredit and reach the point "Cannot Create More Units." i did this using 4 locations of battlecruisers that keeps oncoming every 2 secs i think and 1 location of marines. i just tried this to see how far it would go. the reason of the marines is too see if it will be based on unit count, instead of unit cap.

    although i did manage to have an even number on unit cap, which will have proof that this is the map max, i haven't really tried this on a real game yet.

    I tried maxing out on a small map, and was able to spawn exactly 1700 units.

    yes,, it´s possible,, and a good strategy in case one of your allies try to break diplomacy with you and the alliance is between different races.

    Hmmm...I'm just curious if anyone has ever tried this. Has anyone ever just made a whole bunch of medics to just heal each other while siege tanks/ goliaths/ whatever took out the units they were holding up?
