Anything cool yet?

You can level up. Easily. There is already a built-in system to allow leveling and such. There is even a specific unit type called "Hero." There are also inventories, and a unit type called "Item." The editor isn't as weak as people seem to think. People just aren't looking hard enough in the data and trigger modules.

Actually, there seems to be one. I found a game a while ago that you could buy and sell items like weapons, armor, and status items like first aid kits. It even had a very small inventory screen I could call up at anytime during the game. Don't recall what the game was offhand though.

 

Use triggers to generate the dialog menu that is the inventory, use the data module to set up the items and such. Also, Daemonicus I've been on these forums for years. <3.
