Has anyone extracted the shiny version of the Zerg portrait yet? (from the official site)

I think the SCV avatar suits you more.

I hope this attachment is moved with the forum, although I could just reupload it after the switch if it's lost.

@Forsaken: will do now... I haven't noticed that it's clearer since the Zerg reveal.

Yeah, the blurry stuff is gone now. It looked as if a it was distorted or something, like an old TV with a broken antenna, or something like that. Anyway, thanks in advance.

I had to chop the sides because the picture itself is moving left and right (ask Blizzard why...) and the frame kept appearing on the sides.

edit: actually you can still see it. It'd be about 10 seconds to fix that so let me know if it bothers you ;D but I think it's not too prominent.

Probably because most of the background is made up of the creature itself. Just look at the greenish part in the pictue for a moment. That's the real background I think that the black stuff on the sides are wings or something like that.

Anyway, have a , enjoy it as long as it lasts. ;)

I think kuvasz meant the orange/brown lines that keep appearing on the left and right sides.

How do you edit the video? In which program? Do you save it as SWF or as AVI?

    Re: animated avatars from starcraft2.com

Yeah I missed the part where I convert the video into a .gif file.

I think you're confusing file types there... I record the .swf into .avi, then I convert the .avi into .gif. Then I edit the frames of the .gif to make it loop nicely. They're usually between 100 and 400 frames so it is crucial to get the "capture every x frames" right when you're recording to .avi to reduce the amount of work needed to make it smooth (i.e., delete duplicate frames, extend/truncate the cycle if need be). At this stage you can make such animations as my various Nomads which have truncated cycles, or you could extend for example the Zerg panting to make it "scream" less often in order to make it less distracting.

    That's about it.

    I'm such a Nervous Nelly.

Are these avatars still open to the public, and they're free of charge?
Although I will throw you a power up.

Yes, 1 program to convert (Camstudio) and 1 to edit the frames and the animation (Ulead gif animator). If the frames need serious tweaking or I create my own then I use a third program (Photoshop).
