Alternate weapons for Reapers.

that would work maybe. but a different weapon would be better,. xp

 

when you think about it guass pistols are both too simple and complex.

simple:
Toosimilar to marines and unoriginal
low techish

complex:
in real life it would be incredibly difficult to create effectively.
look at marines rifles their freaking miniguns! to make a weapon use a electro magnetic firing mechanism is not like a bullet.
a hammer hits a primer gun powder goes off as a sudden explosion the actual bullet is pushed violentle by the explosion concentrated on it down the barrel. requires very little barrel length and no power source.
a powerpack gathers energy which then powers magnets that push a steel spike along slowly accelerating.
time is needed for the power to be high enough to power the magnets with enough speed. would have to recharge after every shot. barrel has to be long for the spike to gain enough speed to have killing power at distance.
the big heavy multi-barrel guass rifles the marines have would be do able, rapid fire single barrel pistols wouldn't.

yes and pistol is just very much UNinspired. i really believe blizzard decided it to be pistols, because they think its badass enough and its nostalgic which is somehow needed for the terran. i know blizzard is better than this and i keep my fingers cross and i'll be waiting. hoping.

 

I found this old Reaper concept art from BlizzCon (I think) and it appears that they tried out a few bigger weapons before deciding it to be unfit.

i think that weapon looks awesome, but i could imagine it looking strange when aimed

 

I consider the one on the white background the coolest. (I still favor the guns though)

EDIT* Btw, I found a screenshot confirming that Reapers cost 50/25 (although I was expecting that) .

 

If they had a big fancy gun then they'd just be fancy marines. I think the big automatic pistols suit their role as raiding units.
