I do. And I've managed to fortify my base so that the Zerg couldn't breach my defense, which is exactly my point. The only way to make the player lose is to send so many units that it's impossible to render it or design the campaign so that it anticipates that a player can win that uneven battle.

It isn't that hard to fend off that wave if you do it right. The entire first campaign is actually really easy.

Actually, I was thinking the zerg using the nydus worm so the terrans couldn't wall up, then be devastated by a supreme number of zerg. Besides, in SC2, other units can also burrow under the buildings, so there's always a way for the computer to win.

Don't forget they will make more money by releasing Terran first, because releasing Terran first will make most fans happier.

I only really give a rats arse about the Terrans, and while I doubt everyone agrees with me, it's no contest that Terran is the race fans care about the most.

it's not so much for the existing fans, but for the newbies. people need to relate to something to get into a game or story. you start up a brand new game that everyone says is good. you start with your marine, ok, that's like the basic infantry unit. and then there's tanks, and "black ops" specialists, ok, this all makes sense. and BATTLECRUISERS!!! wohoo!!

if you start with zerg first... um. what's this "larva"? what's all this purple stuff for? huh? wtf? aliens are weird. that's on top of learning the control scheme, UI layout, etc.

protoss first- might still work, but you still get the "what the hell are these mouthless things talking about? what do humans have to do with all this?"

again people.....this is starcraft 2 we all know what starcraft is about....and we dont need terrans first to familiarize ourselves with the game.....but this is not what i was talking about...i was talking about how terrans always get to have the first say and in the end always get smashed...in sc2 for example the terran campaign is set before the zerg and protoss campaign in the game's timeline...this means that whatever the terrans do in the end it wont matter cause u'll have +2 more campaigns to change whatever that was.....anybody got the poing so far?

I got the point, but remember that there are more than one Terran faction. Raynor's Raiders will probably be succesful in the Terran campaign and not get beaten in the other campaigns. It's possible that only the Dominion gets crushed in the other campaigns. Though I have a feeling that Raynor or maybe Matt Horner will take control of the Dominion but it doesn't have to happen in the Terran campaign.

no, YOU don't. blizzard isn't just selling SC2 to the people who already played SC. they want an even wider audience with the sequel. just because you've played it for 10 years and hang out with people who have, 95% (i'm guessing) of the population still hasn't played it, and 75% (another total guess) hasn't even heard of it. even among videogamers, it's probably at least 50% of gamers have never played it, and maybe 10% haven't heard of it.

anyways, terrans lose because people like a comeback. or, because terrans are fighting against themselves so much, so if one terran wins some other terran loses. not like that with the protoss or zerg, who are more or less united at this point.

asdf, im pretty sure at least 60% of azns (notice im not saying asians) have heard of starcraft :)
toss are not united very strongly, especially since most of toss campaign will revolve around diplomacy. ppl are more.....familiar with terrans and feel better playing terran, maybe cuz they are human. :)
psychology is a nice thing to take into account with newbies
