A somewhat promising countdown to what could be the beta (NetEase)

scwire has come up with an update saying that they now believe it's to do nothing with starcraft, or so says their chinese expert.

 

There we go everyone...the god of this forum has spoken. That site phails.

I mean I'm slacking in a way that I found out about particular information and I post it elsewhere yet somehow manage to forget to post here.

I think we'll get to see Beta releases this month. I'm sure of it.

I would rather be pessimistic about all things relating to SC2 Beta release and receiving a pleasant surprise if its true, instead of being optimistic about it and getting disappointed if its false.

 

You want to know what would really suck though. I can't believe this crossed my mind, but if SC2 is nothing like we imagine and it turns out to be crappy. I know thats blaspheme but it just popped into my mind.

Haha! Don't worry. Fearing for a bad Blizzard game is like worrying about the sun not coming up tomorrow.

Besides, if StarCraft 2 wasn't up to snuff then they would just go back into development until it's what it should be. The original StarCraft did this.

 

And they have been doing it with Nova in Starcraft: Ghost for years now. Erm, you know what I meant.

 

StaCraft 2 Beta download WTF?

I really don't get it! There's a bunch of sites and forums advertising their StarCraft 2 Beta download. Is it possible a leak from Blizzard or is it a fake? I can't download the files because I hit the same invisible wall: "The download is not available in your country." So I'm left with the question: what the hell is it? What's with these downloads? I can't post links, sorry guys, Google it. Maybe some of you can cast some insight into this mystery...

 

Those downloads are fake. Please do not attempt to download them as they are always filled with viruses.

Wait until you see news on StarCraft2Forum about the beta before attempting to join it.

I think my man here are right, SC will give us official news or they will give Jon some information.

 

Why do people always fall for that fake crap? It takes just a few seconds to check the official sites first. :/

 

Come on people! Think! Think about what the state of this forum or the state of Korea would be if there was a leak. A leak over the internet could not be hidden for long .. think hours or a few minutes.

Right now would be preferable.

But since thats not going to happen. Dec 09 would be fine. But early next year would do if it means ironing out the bugs. Plus it would give me time to either upgrade my computer or get a new one.

Meantime. I will have to settle for playing SCBW over and over, checking out the forums, and watching battle reports.

 

Let's hope Battle Reports get A LOT more common... not that it'll really matter when the beta comes out since there'll be quite a bit of videos out then by third-parties.

 

If a leak did happen it'd most likely be because of a hacker getting into the Blizzard computers. Then Blizzard would probably just do what valve did when that happened to them and then I'd hate to be that hacker.

 

I'm kind of gave up on the waiting game. Everytime, I try to make a speculation (usually in the most negative way), Blizzard always exceeds my most negative speculation. Blizzard is probably the only company that can ever exceed my most negative speculation.

When SC2 was first announced back in May 2007, I expected the game to be released at the end of 2008 at the latest (which is also my most negative speculation). Look where we are now. It's May and we still haven't heard one single word about Beta. From the looks of it, we probably won't hear anything about beta test till BlizzCon. BlizzCon will most likely be the place where they announce SC2 beta. They will probably delay a month or 2 and then start beta. So what I'm guessing is that beta won't begin until October/November. Lets see if Blizzard will again, exceed my most negative speculation for beta this time. If they don't, thats great. If they do, I won't be surprised knowning the infinite times that Blizzard has done that to me.
