Is the zergling rush useful when you play on gold league or more higher ones? or its only a loss of time and resources?

    thank u

It's very risky. You should rather consider early pools like 10 or 12 pool if you want to rush, but 6 or 7 is cheesy and risky.

    depends

It can be good, but defensive structures could wreck you.

Two or three Terran bunkers with a fire-bat and two marines can crush straight zerglings. And that leaves you wide open for a counter attack, because your opponent is an expert and was waiting for this.

You'll never see two or three bunkers in a multiplayer game. Nor firebats.

I'm noticing if you get a 10ish pool instead of just rushing into a wall.. take a few minutes longer and Nydus drop. It's pretty underused and not as expected early in game.. Or at all really.

Indeed, I love that thing. I've just grown tired of posting it in every "how do I break their wall" thread. If people don't know the race they're playing then they deserve to be crushed :D

    To truly answer your question:

YES! zerglings with speed upgrade are one of THE most devastating units in early game

with big amounts of them which isn't hard to get, devours all 1st tier units - don't hesitate to get banelings to kill them faster.

you can do a run-by which is when you simply run passed their defense/army and straight into their mineral line and rape their workers. once you have done so, it is a good time to macro and out tech him.

in diamond, zerg players often keep making speed-lings and harassing them until they have tech'd to mutalisk.

they are good at keeping you contained and prevent you from expanding.

As I've increased in the rankings I have seen a lot more cheesy plays in the lower levels and now that I'm gaining ground, I'm seeing more sound and longer term strategies, particularly from terran players but also from toss (who were all reaper and banshee). Maybe this is also because I've gotten better at scouting and shutting down cheese, but c'est la vie. I imagine that zerg cheese is less as you increase as well.

I've only seen this this kind of zerg cheese in zvz matches and I never do it. I think that the economic loss is too significant for me to warrant considering it a viable strategy. If somehow, it could be keyed into a viable baneling strat, I'd consider it, but speedlings aren't good enough imo.

Look it will never hurt you to have Zerglings on the board, I mean that. Like was said before, with speed upgrade (and then other upgardes) they become quite a tough unit.

Rushing verses Terran is something you might want to avoid, more often then not the Zerglings will be fairly useless to you... at least early on..

I've won plenty of Platinum and Diamond level games with a Zergling rush, some players will scout it and still not be prepared. Verses Zerg I back it up with a Spine Crawler sometimes with my scout Drone. I've won plenty of games like that as well.

I personally don't do anything less than a ten pool though, I find it isn't necessary. Just my opinion though.
