I was playing brood war earlier and i tried a new tactic that worked really well. Basically i did the original zerg rush followed by a force of drones and i took their defenses out really fast then started building a base instantly and before he could wipe out my lings (this was a terran enemy) i had a few sunken colonies and i had his base in about 4 minutes. This works great for owning and expanding. I then proceeded to take over half the map within the first half hour of the game and my ally (was also zerg) started on his army and then it was my defenses and his army against one terran enemy who to say the least was like wtf when i merced his ally. after like 2 hours of him attacking us and using all his resources we were like haha you die now and launched a full scale ultralisk ling mutalisk attack. Anyways my version of the zerg rush is to move an entire base into thier base at once. It's aggresive expansion
so, you took out his defences, command center and barracs, and built a hatchery? sounds like it's pretty risky to risk 300 minerals there (if you didn't kill all of his defences bfore)
He had a couple of marines he was working on a Factory so he was completely screwed for an attack. (We had agreed no zerg rush but this was after the first 5 minutes)
You agreed no Zerg rush but you rushed him anyways. Mind you it is still his fault he lost. Rule no 1 in any SC or SC2 game. Saying you will not use a certain tactic does not actually mean it won't be used in game. It's most likely a bluff. If my oponent said "pretty please play with me I promise not to rush you". Then the first thing I'd do would be to build a rush defence. There are no rules in war. And bluffing is part of the game.
