So, last night, rather than doing my homework for Art class, I decided to do a little something for me I give you the Zerg Larva! It took about 2.5 hours from pencil to color, and the fact that i started around 11pm is probably a factor in the mediocre carapace. Tell me what you think
It's almost cute. But dear god that thing will latch onto your chest and scrape through your ribcage. Nice job, and one of the few larva fanarts I've seen.
yea, I thought it'd be nice to give a little shout-out to one of the most underappreciated units in the Zerg Swarm. After all, without him we wouldn't have zergling rushes, would we?
Kaaraa, please continue work on this. Give it a background and shine it up. This is Blizzard-quality fan art. If you can give me a polished product I can see if I can get Blizzard to pick it up. Great work. Remind me for a mineral bonus.
Probably won't be able to for at least 2 weeks. Finishing up the last week of art class, then doing another short one in Georgia. I'll see what I can do this coming weekend though, since i shouldn't have any assignments then
Do what you can, but there's a very real chance that Blizzard will publish this which you can add on your resume. Try to spice it up and maybe put it on Creep or something. Do what artists do! There's a very large market for talented concept artists. What do you think Samwise does? Think you would want to draw your favorite characters all day long and design new ones?
I like it a lot. Highlights on the tentacles look great. I would think you colored digitally if not for the pencil marks on the main body. Remember that a strong portfolio is the key thing an employer would be looking for. I highly recommend getting your best work all on one webpage to use as a digital portfolio. Something a HR person can access anytime anywhere (toilet laptop) is a huge plus. I'm not an expert on the topic, but a self made webpage is preferable to say photo bucket or deviant art. It shows more time and dedication to your work IMO. You don't have to go crazy, just some basic HTML. They should appreciate your artist's eye when they see how you've composed/detailed the page. It allows for all the commentary you would like to attach to each work. Include your contact info and perhaps a link to your resume (aka the document with your past experience. I'm not sure how to make the "e" with an accent over it).
amazing, i love it, great work. you shoudl try a zergling or hydra. evil or not it's adorably wicked in an evil way. i want one as a pet
awesome drawing! that larva looks so awesome that i stared at it for a few seconds close-up to the screen to see the texture work on the larva
