meh another i'm bored - what could zerg get post~ ;D how about a zerg centipede tier 1 unit? it would have no melee weapon, require some vespine but therefore be almost immune to bullets (marines) and when being hit by melee weapons (zealots) it would deal alot of poison damage to the attackers... while burrowed it could deal some nice acid damage to buildings...
I think it's too strong, to be a tier one unit, and extra strong for Zerg... Doesn't fit the game I think
i dont get it. takes small damage from range attack and poisens those who attack it with melee? rush with those and u can win the game every time. but i do like the centipede idea. maybe it can crawl over cliffs and shit.
Yeah, "takes small damage" "poisons those who attack it with melee" "crawl over cliffs and shit" are all advanced abilities. Even if it were to have one of them it would belong in tier 2 at least. All three would place it in tier 3 unless it has either really low HP a slow movement speed, or the abilities come as upgrades. Then you have yo ask yourself, It has no attack, so what exactly are you using it for?
W/ the stats you gave it, i would used it as a wall. Block narrow pathways with the centipede, so when melee units try to break it, they would sustain some damage and tier 1 ranged units would have a hard time killing them. Or perhaps make a couple of them, send them in as a distraction for bunkers then rush in with other units.
not bad but could use some fixing, blizzard might have something like that. oww they can call it a nydus worm JR. lol
so this unit is some sort of living wall,as well as being an underground siege unit ??certainly sounds interesting,i like it.but instead of making it almost immune to bullets and poisoning mellee units,i personally think it should be like this: that way,it wouldn't be so overpowered...the only problem is that i believe it would do basically the same things the Lurker was created to do...
It shouldn't be taking small damage from all ranged units, only those tier 1 units like marines. Same thing for the poison melee thing. But this unit doesn't seem to fit into the theme of the zerg, which is rushing the opponent with a whole lot of weak, cheap units. If this is a very strong tier 1 unit, it should go to the protoss.
If it can't attack it can't be a tank, unless it has an ability to draw aggro. The only use for this unit would be blocking choke points or burrowing them next to buildings to slowly destroy the buildings, and it would be unbalanced tier 1 because only zerg has a detector unit that early.
I like the living wall idea. I was just thinking it would be cool if it could ball up and roll fuckers over.
If it didn't take damage from ranged attacks.... then that gets rid of Terran. Terran have no melee units, besides the SCV. Also I don't really like the idea of it being a wall. No Zerg unit would just sit there and get shot at or stabbed, maybe it should have pincers or mandibles to attack the enemy? Like a real Centipede. Also having to destroy all the body modules seems a bit lame and nothing like StarCraft. Old games, like Bomber-man, used that idea, and it didn't even work for them. EDIT: I do like the increased armor while burrowed/curled up idea. Seems to fit the unit and if used properly could have some interesting outcomes.
Well, if the unit can't attack, then how can you rush with it? And how can you use the unit if your enemy just don't attack it? I mean, then it would be a unit with no use. That unit would just not fit into zerg the zerg idea.
