I just had a blast playing a relatively short game with some friends and here's what happened. It was so hilarious. I was random and happen to get Terran while my buddy on the other team random and got zerg. I started early gas as well as the ghost academy and I accidentally built an extra ghost academy, so instead of canceling it, I went with it and let it finish. Then I got 2 ghosts along with 2 nukes with cloak and sent it over to my friends newly built expansion with spine crawlers and simultaneously nuked the expansion mineral line along with the area near the choke point and caught all but 2 drones.

We both started laughing hysterically on skype and I don't know what happened next, but that was a good night, oh man , that was a good night.

What are your funniest moments in SC2? How did it happen?

I've posted about one match a long time ago. It was my first ever match of sc2 after like 8-9 years of absence from strategy games. Suffice to say that while I still suck a lot, I sucked infinitely at that one! So off I go to my first placement match, scared like hell as to what I'd encounter and playing a TvT(after a couple campaign games terran was the only race I somehow knew). the other guy makes a failed attack at me and I made a ghost and a nuke and went off to his base trying to place it somewhere. So I target his ramp since that's all I could feel safe to target and see the huge nuke visual(and thought to myself, omg, does he also see this huge alarm thingie?) and a scan goes off in the wrong direction and he thinks I'm targeting his mineral line so off he draws his whole army and his workers out of the base and they crumble at the ramp at the exact moment the nuke lands. The guy was left with 1 worker and 1 marine and I was left with an epic game for my first placement match, lolz. Still got the replay on my pc, lolz :p

One of ther funny match(of which I didn't talk on this forum :p) was recently playing a pvp with a guy who was about the same level of play as me and we did a freaking mirror match not only in builds but also battle tactics. We blinked togeather at the same time a few times over and did the same stuff and i found myself giggling and commenting to the other guy on similar moves like "nice blink" when we blinked together. thing is that he might misunderstood my comments to me mocking him since I had a slight better army and won all fights and didn't reply to any, but I found the match quite a good game and as entertaining as some complete mirror matches are(though cheese mirrors are quite funnier to watch)

    A tale of two parts:

    Part I

Played custom 3v3 on Ark Citadel.

    1 opponent dropped.

1 teammate started talking a bunch of smack about how they had no chance against HIM like this, etc (he WAS the only other diamond ranked, but still)

I remarked how if they had someone decent the pooled resources could make it harder for us. I was summarily dismissed by teammate.

All 3 of us got taken down by 1 guy. First a crippling resource rush with reapers, hitting me first (and I had done a stupid expansion, but wasn't all that serious about the game anyway), then my smack talking teammate (who had gone scouts + void rays), then our newbie 3rd guy. Mass M+M from the same opponent sealed the game.

Teammate proceeded to talk about how he couldn't believe how bad I sucked (even though supposedly he was going to solo them, right?)

    Part II

I start a new 3v3 custom on Ark Citadel.

One of my opponents is.......MY SMACK TALKING TEAMMATE! So yeah....I kinda want to run him into the ground ;)

Then low and behold....one of my partners drop. I begin to grin evilly.

My other faithless partner then leaves.....now I'm cackling evilly.

I formulate your basic and hideously effective zerg strategy for this situation ----> lightling rush to unfairly massed and ridiculously quick mutas. DTs out of one of my dropped partner are a "late" backup plan in the works that ended up not being needed.

One of his partner drops...I curse quietly but still figure based on his earlier comments he won't abuse it appropriately.

I crush them....his remaining partner unfortunate collateral damage. It tastes sooo sweet.

I'm also proud to say I didn't type a single thing to him, despite my inner devil twitching like mad to open up that can of smack ;).

He was also shamefully quiet :D

Good lord this sounds so gay now I read it again...

I was giggling shyly at the other guy and tried to hit on him with a cool blink hit and then invite him for dinner, but alas it didn't work out.

    There, fixed. :p

It's hard to resist getting blink if the other protoss also has blink. I have had very similar experiences as well. We would both blink into each other's base at about the same time and retreat realizing we are in each other's base. It was pretty funny.

Also, just a little later(a while ago) I played a match against some other Protoss. Seems like we went for a similar tactic with phoenixes for harass at start and then dunno, I hadn't really thought of something, maybe colossi...

Anyway, he sends his 3 phoenixes to harass my base and I kill them with my 8 phoenixes since I made the stargate earlier and chronoboosted them out... And before the I got the 3rd kill he just leaves the game...

Wtf is wrong with these games today?

I was 2v2-ing, terran and protoss vs terran and zerg.

It was my first game with the Thor/Marine strategy,

Our first two attacks failed, but we did some good damage (he went mass Void Rays, I went Thors/Marines). After destroying his initial base and failing EPICLY against the opposing terran player, we found the zerg guy's expansion and took him out of the game. Immediately after (like, less than 5 seconds) the terran guy quit and we won.

I thought it was funny because he had a gread defense going on both his bases and could have repelled our attacks with a little micro, but he left anyway.

I was recently playing random 4v4 on Megaton. We announced strategies for our team and began building. One of my Terran teammates announced he was going "Mass CC", which I kind of ignored as we all began our builds.

The game gets underway, attacks back and forth and I'm micro-ing my Void Rays around, attacking / defending. I realized that we were playing okay, but we couldn't get the upper hand for some reason. I checked the based of my partners, and sure enough, the one Terran had built something like 30 Command Centers in our base! (Megaton being a shared base) These weren't upgraded into Planetary Fortresses or anything... just plain old Command Centers sitting in our base! Eventually the tide swung against us, at which point I complained that this partner did nothing. He replied "I TOLD YOU I WAS GOING MASS CC!" and left the game.

It was some time ago; I'll see if I can dig through my old replays and find it if I get a minute.

I played one time against a Zerg player and I went into his base and what do I see? Like 100 overlords just sitting there dumping creep all over his base. Then like 15 overseers came over and made tons of changelings that just blocked my probes from the base. It lagged me so hard but he left eventually.

    I once had a weird 3v3 game.

First I got all in SCV rushed, but I survived that rush with like 10 probes (he stopped attacking after every kill for some reason).
Then, his ally decided to help him, and probe rushed as well. In the meantime I already got a zealot, and sliced away his probes.
My eco was pretty bad at that point, but my allies were unharmed, and they finished the two rushing players. From here on , it was a 3v1 match, which we won very easily.

It was quite funny to see 2 worker all ins fail, countered by only 1 player.
