Coming to America starring Eddy Murphy - This movie is SO funny!
Mrs Doubtfire (I forgot how to spell her name) - This movie is hailarious too!
The 5th element - always good with a sci fi movie
Speed - yes lots of chemistry between Sandra Bullock and Kiena Reeds
Mean girls - I have to like a teen flick since I'm a teen
American Pie 3 The Wedding - this is hailarious! I had my friends over and watch this movie all night! we just couldn't sleep.
Death becomes her - this movie is as funny as hell
Little Miss Sunshine - this movie is very funny and has a great storyline. It's like a real human version of the simpsons
Titanic - you can't deny it's a great movie, especially the part with the hands up against a foggy car window!!
2 Fast 2 Furious - I like street racing, what else can I say?

    Princess Bride
    AI
    Bicentennial Man
    Bladerunner
    Fifth Element
    Akira
    Spirited Away

*has a weak spot for sci-fi and good anime movies*

More possibly as I can remember them, there are so many that I can never think of all of em when I post in topics like this.

omg! most of your fave movies are flops and has bad acting and poor special effects. and some of you like old movies. heheh
chronicles of riddick for example, looks like a sci fi tv series.

speed? i find other people on that bus annoying. like the short haired asian, and sandra bullock, i thought she was flirting with keanu the whole time. but anyway i like the movie, but only for one sitting. ;)

heres my top 10 lists. (i never get tired of these movies, and thats why i like them).
    s. lotr: return of the king ( this is the best movie ever! i watched this in cinema 3 times)
    1. lotr: two towers (2 times)
    2. lotr: fellowship of the ring (4 times)
    3. pirrates of the carribean: at worlds end
    4. pirrates of the carribean: dead man's chest
    5. star wars episode 3: revenge of the sith (2 times)
    6. 300 (3 times)
    7. gladiator (3 times)
    8. spider man 2 (3 times)
    9. shrek 2
    10. troy (2 times)

and my top record for most watched movies in the cinema are..
    spider man (7 times)
star wars: attack of the clones (5 times)

these are only my top 10, the list goes on. (rush hour 2, war of the worlds, saving private ryan, meet the fockers, passion of the christ etc.) ;D

Your top 10 is pure mainstream movies that were only made for $ and they were all made in the 00's

your leak of general culture makes me sad.

The Matrix. but only the first one. The other two sucked.
    Dune (The original)
Maverick. I never tire of that movie.
V for Vendetta. Totally freaking awesome political message
House of Flying Daggers, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Hero. I'm way into the whole wuxia genre, but you can only find the mainstream ones in Utah. =(
A Chinese Tall Tale. I can promise you will not find this in any store - ever. But if you do, buy it. It's so absurdly lame and completely random. I couldn't find any particular plot, but it's funny as all can be.
Serenity A freaking awesome movie based off of the best TV series of all time.

And that be me list. 'Till I remember something more anyways.

movies are meant to entertain. and my favorite movies entertained me a lot. and you just can't compare lord of the rings with fifth element or planet of the apes. yes i think fifth element is good but i don't think its my kind of movie that i will cherished, and the experience factor is just not there. yes i know a lot of movies not only mainstream movies, i can put on my lists i am sam, kill bill, spirited away, the godfater saw, ai etc. but i think they are only good when watched rarely. im not saying that i can watch my fave movies everyday, but surely i can watch them each twice in a month. and i don't really route for the box office hit movies, look there are no jurrasic park, et, titanic, harrypotter, finding nemo etc.

    Damn, I have a lot, and I probably forgetting half of it;

    Starship Troopers (all time favorite)
    11:14
    12 Monkeys
    21 Grams
    2001: A Space Odyssey
    The 5th element
À la folie... pas du tout
    Akira
Alien (all 4, but not Alien vs Predator, that movie is a disgrace too both the alien and predator series)
    American Beauty
American History X (I don’t understand why all the neo-nazi’s in my country love this movie, it has a strong morale AGAINST Nazism)
    Apocalypse Now
The Beach (underrated movie, and Leonardo DiCaprio is really an underrated moviestar, I guess it’s because of Titanic that a lot of ‘serious’ movie lovers won’t take him serious anymore, big shame)
    Blade Runner
    The Butterfly Effect
    City of God
    Chronicles of Riddick/Pitch Black
    A Clockwork Orange
    Crash
Cube (only part 1. 2 and 0 suck)
Dawn of the Dead (old one, the new one sucks)
    Elephant
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
    Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
    Full Metal Jacket
    Ghost in the Shell (1 & 2)
    Un Long Dimanche de Fiancailles
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
    Lost in Translation
    Magnolia
Matrix (first one is the best, but I did like the other 2)
    Les Poupees Russes
    Princess Monoke
    Pulp Fiction (who doesn't?)
    Requiem for a Dream
    Reservoir Dogs
    Se7en
    Serenity
    The Shining
    Sin City
    V for Vendetta
    The Virgin Suicides

wow that's a nice list.. many of them are movies that I forgot on my list. however something really took my attention..

    The Virgin Suicides

maybe it's because I didn't watch to movie for the good reasons.. (I watched it because the soundtrack was made by Air, a band that I like)

I didn't really like the movie.. except for it's soundtrack...

ohh about The Beach.. I've not seen the movie but I know what it is.. and I totally agree with you that leonardo dicaprio is underrated.. I used to underestimate him until i saw him in The Departed.. and I realised that he's just like Brad Pitt or Johnny Depp... aka a king of cinema

American History X: yeah they like the movie because we see nazis in them.. it's a good start for them.. they get a model to follow.. and some swastika to enjoy ;)

Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels...... Yeah this movie is awesome.. and I do prefer it to it's sequel with Brad Pitt and Goldie (Snatch) I prefer a story with poker and weed to a story with boxe and a diamond :)

Snatch is not a sequel to Lock Stock, just letting you know.

When I get home and I can access my facebook, I will post my favorite movies. There is no way that I will remember all of them right now. Check back in 7 hours or so.

you are right.. "sequel" isnt the right word..

but it's almost a sequel. I don't know what would be the best word to describe the link there is between these 2 movies..

it's just like the links between reservoir dogs and pulp fiction..

i think quentin said something about making a movie that would link these 2 a bit more... but it got canceled..

vince vega and mr. blonde are brothers.

Hmm Goldie? Didn't know he was into acting :p But I never saw Snatch, there are alot of movies that fit in the list of 'everyone's seen them except for me' like Fight Club (I'm deeply ashamed) of Pirates of the friggin' Caribbean (probably a waste of my time :p)

I haven't seen The Departed, but isn't it the U.S. remake of the Hong Kong movie 'Infernal Affairs' ?

    See Snatch
    See Fight Club
PotC is pretty good, but it's not substantial, just a really fun adventure movie
    OMFG SEE THE DEPARTED
yes it's a remake, but from what I hear it does the original justice

    BOSTON FTW
