    sorry about that :D

I mainly have a lot of manga (including starcraft manga) and scifi or fantasy books.

and of course the *shudder* Harry potter series (this is from like... 5 years ago? probably 7 years...)

    All of the Starcraft books.
All of the HALO books most of which are deffinetly must reads even if you despise HALO. They are written really well and can seriously bring you into them.
A crap ton of other famous novels I've read. 20-30. Stuff like Gulliver's Travels, Catcher in the Rye, Clockwork Orange, etc.
A really old special edition of the comic Wolverine.
A few mangas of this and that, mainly Tengo Tenge.
Some drawing books, some drawing pads, and some other utensils for drawing.
A large collection of my writings.
    ...One magazine of Busty Babes.
    Uh............ S'bout it I think.

Are they ever going to make the next Golden Compass? The freaking movie was beyond epic, probably my favorite. ****'s been out for a long time though, surprised a new one hasn't come out.

I have a lot of books on philosophy. A few religious texts, multi denominational and such.
A bunch of history books on tons of subjects. My Cold War section has 12 books, my World War section is 8.
A bunch of cheap fantasy novels (Damn you RA Salvatore).
    Some classic lit. Nothing much.
A few hardcover I guess... Coffee table books? Nice pictures, little text.

Takaim, did you ever read the His Dark Materials series? They butchered the story in the film. My god, it was terrible.

That's the thing. I don't read books and then watch movies or vice versa. Cus then I'd act like you people all like omfg they ruined the story. D: I never read the books, but I loved the movie and have no interest in seeing how they slaugthered it in the movie because in the end it's still great watch and entertaining.

too many books to remember, everyone in my family has books on the same bookcase, and hardly any of them have been read in a long time. I remember there are star trek and star wars novels, harry potter books, books from when I was a kid, etc. And next to the comp down stairs my sister has the Vampire Game manga.

On the subject of bad book based movies, my prime example is the movie Eragon. was looking so forward to it only to be disappointed. Good movie by itself but butchers everything from the book.

If you are talking about movies: the last one tanked, so probably never.

The original books weren't funny, rather going for dramatic.

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
Alice's adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll
    The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand

Several titles I have not bothered to read were exempt from this list, as was The Living Dead (unknown author) which is a collection of zombie short stories that I lent to my sister who took it to college with her. The target audience is somewhat younger, and almost all of the titles are fantasy-related. I would suggest Artemis Fowl, The Manual of Detection, Dune, and Sherlock Holmes to the readers of this forum. Unless your username is Takaim. In which case I would suggest The Secret War or The Saint of Dragons.

EDIT: I have no idea where my pre-movie release copy of The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown is.

The Inheritance series by Christopher Paolini.
    Infected by Scott Sigler.
    Stephen King stuff.
    Richard Matheson stuff.
Some mangas (Fullmetal Alchemist, Trinity Blood, .hack).
    Michael Crichton stuff.
The Gears of War novels (surprisingly not too bad and add to the game series).
The Necromancer series by Garth Nix.
The Warcraft novels (except for Arthas -because I don't care- and Stormrage -because I heard it was bad-).
The Starcraft novels (missing Heaven's Devils because of money).
    The Diablo novels.
A lot of zombie/vampire books from my sister I still have to read.
    More by John Hodgman.
    Nothing's Sacred by Lewis Black.
The Ranger's Apprentice series by John Flanagan.
The Montmorency series by Eleanor Updale.
Hannibal by Thomas Harris (funny how I don't have Silence of the Lambs).
Graphic novels (Bone, Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Stephen Colbert's Tek Jansen).
    Survive! by Les Stroud.
And my friend is letting me borrow a lot of the Horus Heresy novels (Warhammer 40K).

All the ones I care to list.

Oh yes, it's called The Inheritance Series. Thanks for that. I was too lazy to pull one out. Can anybody recommend me any titles from their shelves based off of what I've listed? I've just recently gotten in to short-story fiction collections, especially sci-fi or exploratory/fantasy. I still love a good mystery, though. Just about sick of the generic straight-fantasy plot-line.
