a thought came to me while i was looking over the zerg history
whatever happened to the Xel'Naga dna when the zerg absorbed them?
was it only for space traveling purposes? OR! will they bring out some crazy zerg-Xel'Naga hybrid thingy from the depths of the swarm like the protoss did with the colossus? ;)
    what do YOU think?

I think if the Xel Naga had "good Genes" the Zerg and Protoss would have them already. The Protoss are different since they represent a different aproach to the same goal.

I think that's what the Cerebrates are actually, the Zergified Xel'Naga brains.

if the Xel' Naga were absorbed by the zerg they should rename it and make it "Zerg' Naga" or "Zel' Naga" :p

    Lol, that's good point.
But I thought naga itself meant a water type race?
    OR
Did blizzard intend to hint that Xel'naga is a water hybrid something else race?

it's difficult to make cool names when your clients may not even no how to pronounce them.i myself had always said "Xel'Naga" wrong, until i watched the Terran storymode demonstration at blizzcon...and even knowing the correct way of saying it,i still pronounce it wrong on purpose ^^

@Alasdair:well,you can't really steal from yourself, can you ??and it was just a reference, like the Hydralisk in the first Night Elf mission from Reign of Chaos.they just like to pay homages to themselves ^^

'Naga' are actually a god-like creatures that have the features of a man and a snake in Indian Mythology (if I'm not mistaken), which explains why they used it for the Naga race in WarCraftIII (what with them being half snake half man and all). The Naga aren't a reference to to the Xel'Naga, and the Xel'Naga aren't a reference to the Naga (seeing as the Xel'Naga existed before them). Now maybe the Xel'Naga, if they're shown, will also be serpent like humanoids, or maybe it was just a name that they made up and thought sounded cool, but there is definately no link between the two species.
