what are your ideas for a WOW2(even though blizzard isnt done milking WoW1 yet)

i suggest that there will be some(around 75) special quests which are much more difficult, runescape-esque. and that old-style still exists of course

better graphics, better combat, physics incorperated... in some... way... perhaps ragdoll deaths... or something..

Ahem what i would REALLY love would be the ability to pick your own fraction and then become hostile to all others, IE if you wanted to join defias, and become a smuggler! or wtf! then you could and would have quests against the other fractions etc to do so. would mean everyone has more enemies. and friendships within a fraction would mean perhaps a little more ;D.

    More classes.
    Racial Hero Classes.
    Faction only classes.
A faction thats starts neutral but later you pick who you want to help, Alliance or Horde.
    More playable races.
    Maybe two more professions.
More zones back on good ol' Azeroth.
Instances around you characters level that can be soloed, but still have a challenge.
Maybe a little more serious looking graphics.

I'll put more if I think of anything else.

I can't emphasize this much, but I'll quote it.

Also, being able to scale features for your character.

    I want a fat Gnome.

I play on a RP server mostly now (lolwhat).

So I'd like to be able to have a backstory to characters that you can edit and others can read.

I want to see a changing world.
The world should change as you complete quests,
people should treat you differently besides just attack you once you reach a certain level of reputation with them.
Make it a difficult game =/
    New lores pl0x?
I've been sick of Arthas and Illidan and Kel'Thuzad since WC3:TFT came out.

"The world should change as you complete quests"

And how exactly are you going to make it work?

    ill fill this one
i said that in a post before right, have two different worlds one that is set to change a little after some quests(well, if you call a free gnomeregan minor) and that you could change worlds in every city

this could work with a combination of the instance system, maybe some normally invisble doodads, or doodads that slightly change form(like a quest to stop the scattered energy crystals on that one draenai island from polluting, would make them emit green flows of power instead of lightning)
of course this would only happen in one world, the other world would alway stay the same

That's actually pretty plausible. At first when I read "the world should change as you complete quests", I thought it was a pretty inane statement, more along the lines of Diablo, or any other RPG, than an MMO, but it could potentially work. Even just basic things like after completing an escort quest, not seeing the NPC you just escorted back where they originally were, and other things like ijffdrie was talking about. Perhaps they could then appear in town and offer their services, or whatever, kinda like an extended quest reward. It'd could potentially add a huge amount to the single player component of the game, which could result in less grinding. Basically, the players change and impact upon their immediate surroundings, and then end-game raiding, etc, would basically be an army making a bigger impact. That way it could even end up more similar to WarCraft3 campaigns, where stuff actually progresses, making World of WarCraft much less plot-destructive.

The only problem would be with parties and group quests. Different players would be at different stages, so finding a way to integrate each of the other's individual environment would be tricky and hard to do. Needless to say, it would have to be done carefully.

It would be nice if blizzard added some ingame cutscenes for quests in their next MMORPG(Basically your taken to an identical instance minus other players when you are getting the quest). A huge amount of second rate MMORPG's these days use them and they work for both groups and individuals. It allows side plots etc to feel more driven and on a set course. As well as this it allows your own player to acctually talk and move independently in relation to the quest NPC which adds a bit more life.

Don't trust him! He's doesn't play any more!

But seriously, it'd be a nice addition. My only problem would be that if the other four skip the cutscene, then they're just waiting for this one player to finish watching it. Kinda like Diablo2 Battle.Net, where if you're with others and you complete an act, there's practically no time for you to watch the next cinematic. All the other'll just be focused on power levelling, and you'll basically just have to skip all that content. So, in that regard, almost every in-game cutscene would have to be made to be worth watching, by making it funny, action packed, etc, otherwise they won't be watched. Either that or just make them unskipable. :p

It would be pretty awesome though, and it'd reveal more of what you're actually doing that just reading the quest description would.

Quick question, would you actually play WoW2 if it came out?

okay i have another great idea: spell circles and terrain bonusses, these two are there to make the game a little more strategized and to create a bigger difference between using 2 weapons and a 2-handed weapon

spell circles: instead of having to completely stand still during the casting of a spell there will be a small area in which you can move while casting a spell (indicated by a unique summoning circle), and instead of slightly putting a spell back, every kind of direct damage would knock the caster back, and teh amount of knocking back would differ per weapon: a 2-handed sword would knock the opponent back further then a one-handed, while a spear woul knock the target back only a little, but would get a damage bonus,

the other one is terrain bonusses and penalties; for every kind of terrain there would be a small bonus: on grass or forest terrain druids would get a nature damage bonus, or inside a volcano mages and warlocks get 0.1 second less casting time for fire spells. or for ice: increase speed, but also increase the amount you get knocked back, and one rocky ground
