http://www.gateway.com/product_spec.php?product_recid=529668018 I don't know if it says RAM on there, but mine is 2.00. I did read the specs if SC2 and I couldn't figure out if it would work. Especially because I don't know if the graphics card will...
I would not recommend it. The computer just has a (way too slow) Intel GMA graphics card, and since the PSU can only deliver 300 watts, you can't upgrade to a really strong graphics card. Almost all other parts of this computer seem to be quite old ("budget"), too. However, if you get a mid-ranged graphics card which only consomes ~60 watts, it should be OK. Exemples: Radeon HD 5670 for ~80$.
Shoot, I can't get a new computer. There is really no other way around it than for a new comp though huh? If anybody can find an easier way around this, please just say it will take a minute. Plus, I will donate all my minerals to you.
UPGRADE the PSU and get a better GPU. 5770 (ATi) my dell setup is almost identical to your except for GPU and your CPU is 2.2ghz mine is currently at 2.0ghz core2duo E4400! I run the game with ultra settings and it lags but only when theres 60+ units onscreen. upgrade your ram to 4gig (readable 3.3gigs), upgrade the CPU and GPU! hopefully your gateway tower is aftermarket PSU friendly... Luckily my Dell is PSU aftermarket friendly and have a good opening. I realized that there are some OEM units that have the PSU plug cut-out! which sucks cause then you have to look for an exact style. otherwise it won't work. I'll tell you, just upgrade my GPU to a ATi HD5830 made a huge difference, but i want it to run flawless, or as close to flawless as possible. Hope this helps some. I'm still a noob!
