I love the way Starcraft 2 is coming along visually; the Zerg look insane as do the Terran. But whats up with the lack of creativity with the Protoss? To me, the Stalker, the Immortal, and the Collosus all look basically the same: 4 legged robots out of a science fiction novel (Especially the Colossus). I think the Stalker looks awesome, but the other 2 units could've looked much more unique.

Do you like the way those 3 units look?

I like the look of the Immortal and the Colossus but the Stalker has a timid look. And the similarity between them is no more than between Marines, Reapers, Ghosts, and Thors.

I, for one, want as much normality as possible. Starcraft is already crazy unrealistic.

i love the looks! and they all look unique!

first of all, blizzard created a 2 seperate dragoons. a fast blinking one (stalker) and a meat tank (immortal)

besides the collosus is no where near similar to the immortal or the stalker.

It wouldn't be very good if every unit in the Protoss, Terran or Zerg army looked completely unique to all the rest. Teams need similar looking units. That's how the Protoss, etc, as a whole, looks so uniform and united. If they all looked different it'd just looks like a random assortment of drunken, rowdy hooligans forming a mob to pass out their own vigilante justice.

I'd like Immortals to be more similar to old dragoons, I don't see why they added whole "torso" with head and hands on top of it.

All 3 models are great. Just make the Colossus walk better as it seems to twinkle around on tip-toes.

All the Immortal needs is the thicker cannons back and they're fine.

The stalkers legs are kinda fat tho, but it isn't a major problem.

I too like the models and I don't think they look to much the same, it is just how protoss technology looks. 4 legs instead of wheels; however, I would really like to see a Stalker in-game unit that looks more like the concept art. At the moment It doesn't.

Well, if it is their trend to make walking legs... Our culture sez we should make wheels to move faster, if we make something that doesn't spin it is strange: an airplane's turbine, a helicopter helix or a vehicle's wheels. But that doesn't sound unoriginal. I think if Protoss all have a similar technology of imitating nature with robotics, that's how their units should look like.

It makes sense from a technological point of view that the toss units would look similar. If I was the designer for the army of the toss I wouldn't be making entirely new designs from scratch every time we needed a new vehicle or whatever. I would just take the basic blueprint from others and expand or detract depending on where it was needed.

Protoss's mech are 4 legged creeps :p. (Immortals, Stalkers, and Colossus) so that they differentiate from the other races.

Terran's mech are 2 legged creeps (Marauders, Vikings, and Thors). Therefore, they differentiate themselves from the other races.

Zerg, are all yucky organic monsters from nowhere. So yea, they are very different compared to the other races.

The way I see it, they are all supposedly variations of the Dragoon. Stealth/agility Dragoon, high powered siege Dragoon, and anti-artillery/heavy unit Dragoon. The way I see it, they are all evolutions of the Dragoon concept in three different ways.

well one thing im sure is that even though stalker looks timid, hes actually kinda super unit.

look he can attack both air and ground and he can blink. what else do we need?

he can kill hydra 1:1 right?

    super~

No Hydralisk will probably beat a Stalker since it will only do 8 damage against it.
