Why Can't You Report Yourself?

in one of these tipps stands that you can press the "report to mod"-button not only to report bad post but also to report good post so ym question is:

why we can't report our own posts??

*when it is a good post.
EDIT: and i dont think everyyone would report every time when he writes a post...

I think your post is only good when others find it good. If you write your ideas and tactics, I am sure you think they are the best ones, but maybe someone doesn't like it that much, or it is just not "useful" enough to deserve the bonus minerals.
Just make sure you give your best and hope for someone to report your post, like everyone does lol
So I think your question is a bit meaningless..

And I think they would. There's no report to mod button at your own posts for the same reason you can't change your own power level.

I'll just sneak in a small suggestion while we're at the subject. Sc2, please set it so we can't buy our own stuff from the trade centre. People (I could give you names) have been abusing it in order to make the system display fake prices for their items. Pretty please with cherry on top!

I can see it with reporting a post you messed up on, ie wrong sub-forum, but reporting your own post when you think it's good is simply narcissism.

Well right now it doesn't but when we had the mouse-over text for every item (and sc2 is planning to reimplement it), it showed the price the person paid for it in the trade centre, regardless if the person bought it from someone else or him/herself. By buying your own stuff you can set whatever price you want (as long as you have the money) and others will see that false price. Either make people unable to buy their own stuff or don't have the price displayed in the mouse-over.

What difference does it make? Who bases there prices based on those numbers anyway?

I'm just saying there's no point in displaying the price paid if it can be changed whenever you want it and vice versa, there's no point in letting people buy their own stuff if we want the true price paid displayed.

Yeah It annoys me not being able to report myself. Sometimes I put something in the wrong section or add a poll or something and would like the threa moved or merged or something and PMing one mod is slower than reporting a post.

Of course if reporting were allowed then there would be mineral penalties for bugging the mods with you asking for minerals and front page space.

Well, sometimes our posts suck too.

 

Hehehe, who doesn't have bad posts?? I think everyone has.. But I am sure people wouldn't report their bad posts

Takes longer since half of the time I see a different mod on before one of you.

reporting takes less time if the mods are offline.


One thing that might help is if we had the power to lock and mover our own threads in the event of it belongs somewhere else or has become outdated.

Make a new thread. We don;t have the feature to add polls to existing topics

 

Or, again, PM a mod, cause we can.

 

Why can't we add poll? Seems to me that only allowing the mods to do that unecessarily complicates things
