Hey guys! Proud new member here with some MUCH needed help. Okay so long story short, i can play campaign for about 20 min straight and then all of a sudden it will turn laggy and almost impossible to play so i minimize the Starcraft screen and wait about 5 min, and its good to go again. It's really annoying because in melee this happens more and more often now. No disconnects JUST very big lag EVERYTHING possible is running low graphic wise (in game) Resolution not sure so went with recommended) Heres my Computer Specs: 8gigs of Ram AMD Anthlon II X4 620 Processor (2.60GHz) Windows 7 64 bit, 1 TB Hard drive (plenty of space) NIVDIA GeForce 9100 I ran it through CanYouRunIt.com and it told me i am above the required requierments but not at the recommended ones. And i thought it MIGHT be maybe my internet connections so i did an online test Download speed 12.09 Mb/s Upload Speed 0.42 MB/s Please help, VERY stressful and annoying =(
Do you have a BIOS that can tell you what the temprature of your CPU is? Sometimes when your CPU gets heated and isn't being cooled well enough you can get what seems to be a lag. I have this issue with playing on my laptop every now and then. Your components look to be more then good enough to run the game. How defragmented is your hard drive if at all ?
Check First off i would make sure your graphics, audio and system drivers are all updated. You also went with the recommended resolution which may be misleading, the hardware in my machine will run any game max with 1920x1200 resolution but the auto detect only put me at like 1280x768 so try cranking it up a bit and see what happens, if it gets worse go lower. Your system is definitely able to play this game and it should play it decently well. Are you running the game in a windowed mode if not try windowed mode and see how it runs ive found some games function better in this mode although with less graphics horsepower devoted to them.
This could be the nVidia overheating problem. Navigate to C:\Users\[Yourusername]\Documents\StarCraft II and open Variables.txt and add the lines: frameratecap=60 frameratecapGlue=30 This is a temporary work around until Blizzard patches things.
