This is a character I just noticed right now. I have never heard any information from him before. He is a 'mysterious' agent of James Raynor and want to kill Arcturus Mengsk and destroy his Dominion. Déjà Vu ! It's the same story than Lieutenant Samir Duran. Aslo a guy coming from nowhere who wants Mengsk's fall. Except that Duran came from the Confederacy. Of course he came from a novel of Starcraft. But it's better to separate the characters of the novels and those from the game. http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Gabriel_Tosh PS: I confess I am bored of seeing those new characters coming from nowhere and getting involved in the Starcraft universe. I have this opinion with a lot of new characters. Blizzard has to let Raynor, Kerrigan, Duran, Mengsk, Zeratul and Artanis alone.
Gabriel Tosh is from the StarCraft: Ghost franchise, so he's not coming from nowhere. Much of Ghost involved the inner workings of the Dominion. It makes sense that Raynor would have picked up allies during his struggles against Mengsk. I don't know what Tosh's role on the Hyperion is, but bunches of roles (scientists, engineer, mercenary recruiter, doctor, etc) need characters, and each of those characters need portrayal or development. Raynor's not on an empty ship, and it would be bad storytelling to pretend that he is.
he looks kinda cool. reminds me of the dude from afro samurai but with braids instead of the afro lol.
Sure that we'll have to know more about him in WoL. Okay, he does not come from nowhere. But as his presentation is explained exactly like Duran I fear that Tosh will also be a treator like Duran. We'll see in a couple of months .....
I'm not sure I follow what your saying but, from wildly guessing at what you mean, then Artanis and Selendis are likely traitors. Also, HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!
To DeckardLee and Kaaraa : I haven't talked about Selendis at all. Duran is a treator and I suppose Tosh will be one in WoL. The presentation of Tosh (I posted a link above) is nearly the same than the presentation of Duran. Duran's presentation was described inside the Brood War manual. And you have also explanations here http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Samir_Duran And as Tosh and Duran profiles are nearly similar in the fact that they came from a resistance groupe and wanted the fall of Mengsk they have nearly the same curriculum. And we know that Duran was a treator. So that's why I said Tosh will be a treator too.
Can you be more specific? There are many characters that come from the same background. That's simply because of how the story is set up. Tychus Findlay, Jim Raynor, Sarah Kerrigan all have very similar back stories. Also, Samir Duran didn't technically come from anything Terran given that he's not even Terran.
The presentation of Tosh is nothing like the presentation of Duran, other than them being (or in Duran's case, pretending to be) ghosts. Duran was a foe of the Dominion from the very beginning. Tosh was a Dominion ghost, and loyal to them too, before whatever happened (see the upcoming StarCraft: Ghost lore products) to turn him against Mengsk. I think Findlay turning traitor is more likely. He's the newest member of the Raiders, after all.
I agree. I don't think he'll outright betray Jim Raynor given their history but I do think it's likely he'll cause some trouble. After all, he's the one that's been getting Jimmy to do the mercenary work. Also, in the first single-player demonstration, Jim tells Matt to "keep an eye on Tychus". Seems pretty suspicious to me. It's only a small hunch though.
