When and how do get into the beta?

Hey guys, I have been off and on web browsing and have heard stuff about the beta but have not heard as to when or how to play it. Could someone shed light for me? Thanks.

It's not when, it's if. IIRC it will be quite a "conservative" beta with only pro gamers, community leaders, and people who earned the chance can test SC2.

I doubt the beta will be as limited as that. If the beta was for such a small group of people Blizzard wouldn't have nearly as much information as they need, especially since they'll have to see how well the game works for most people. It's probably not going to be a huge public beta, but it's not going to be for a small select group either. Expect a medium sized beta group, although they might have a big public beta for a few weeks like WoW did. As for when, I would imagine it's after the Invitational and/or Blizzcon, but no one knows for sure.

 

Ok, I wasnt sure. I just kept hearing about it and didnt want to miss out.

 

If you really wanted to be in the beta you should go to the WWI becuase that's probably where they'll be handing out the beta keys.
