What's wrong with the mineral rendering?

Just finished watching the latest Battle Report put out by Blizzard and it struck me how "old School" the minerals and gas deposits look.
What ever happend to a more natural, "blending with the sorroundings" as in realistic mineral and gas rendering? The gas vents are all standard (they look so restrictive)...It be pleasing to see a nice variety of gas and mineral rendering displayed on the maps. Hey why not give em different color hues? Perhaps Blizzard could add a 3rd mineral ("Kryptonite") needed in minute amounts for the higher end units, but with this mineral type widely scattered throughout the maps? Anyways.

Well, this is probably the sort of thing most people don't even want to bother with....right?

    *sigh*

    Alpha build... Incomplete graphics...

Besides i think the minerals look fine, although the gas geysers and buildings need work.

Kypronite is effectively gas, gas is needed for higher tier units and has a unique gathering method that makes it difficult to gather in huge masses like minerals.

I mean whatever this "new" mineral might be called (besides the gas and minerals that we already have) it might not be such a bad idea to have?

Its lacking a ground texture of 'floor cracking' and blue imho.

Wrong, Kryptonite doesn't exist, it is a made up substance that super man is weak to.

Krypton is what you are thinking of, it is a noble gas, and therefor, reacts with almost nothing. So it would be a bad choice.

I am not against another resource, though it should still be one that is standard at mains. It would add more diversity to our builds

Not exactly so. This is the future. If they remove or add some electrons or protons to the Krypton then it becomes useful.

Yeah, then it is another element, which is already named. It wouldn't be kryptonite.

Umm, dark i was referring to his suggestion for the rare 'krytonite' to buy higher tier units and saying that that system is already in it with vespene gas.

I know, but I was just clarifying.

I think there should be three resources though.

So you just thought you'd show off and thought i don't know what krypton is? right...

I disagree, one of the reasons minerals and gas work so well is they're so different, having special minerals takes closes the distinctive gap between the resources.

    Yep, basically.

And I am not talking a different kind of mineral, or a different kind of gas. I'm thinking some sort of liquid state resource, harvested in much the same way gas would, only, in a sort of well. Be nice to use for energy using units.

I think this might work as a third resource for the single-player campaign. I would hate for it to be a harvestable resource in the gameplay but having it as something on the side to collect for special rewards would be nice.
