Whats the spine crawler?

If you look at the zerg tech tree there's a unit from the spawning pool called spine crawler, never heard of it before.

 

It's the new Sunken. I haven't seen it attack though so I don't know if the attack has changed or if it just attacks with subterranean spines instead.

 

it's the new sunken and it can uproot itself and move around. it is super-vulnerable when it moves, however as it loses all its armor (i think). it attacks in pretty much the exact same way though

 

Does it attack exactly the same, as in with a tounge?

 

Well, it holds up its spine like a lemur on all-fours holds up its tail, and when it strikes, it sticks the spine into the ground behind it, then the tip of the spine surfaces to stab the enemy

 

Okay, thanks Kaaraa. Subterranean spine sounds cool. Probably hurts more than a tongue too.

 

i thought they still have a tongue, it just looks longer and skinnier.

 

well the tongue is longer and hang around like a pole when not attacking, think about the annihilation tripod in C&C 3

 

Think Facehuggers from Alien, add their tube mouths to the tail and you have a Spine Crawler

Quick some one get a pulse rifle, but anyway, no here one, i belive, has seen the new spine crawler. Even though we want to, and think Spine crawler is a better name for what its become.

dude everyone has seen the spine crawler. Even better, at wick's link, look at the new zerg gameplay where the zerg is getting owned by the terrans.

 

Anyone happen to know why I can't see any of the videos on gametrailers? Had to download a few a while ago, but can't even seem to do that any more.

 

No idea... Maybe it's a plugin issue.

the spine crawler looks really cool, i think its a really good upgrade from the sunken, as well as the spore crawler.
