Any bets? IIRC, Starcraft I had a screen resolution of 640 x 480, and Warcraft III had a screen resolution of 800 x 600. I would guess that SC2 will have a screen resolution of 1024 x 768, because the larger 1600 x 1200 resolution just can't be expected on all monitors. Any thoughts?

Blizzard likes to have low requirements so I think the minimum will be 800x600 since that is the minimum resolution windows supports.

Darn I was hoping for 1024 x 768 but you have a good point. Also it may be much easier to design graphics for an 800 x 600 screen. Yeah, it'll probably be that.

The resolution will probably be adjustable. I said the minimum will probably be 800x600 but the maximum will probably be at least 1920x1080

My laptop is a widescreen and when I play WC3 on it, the graphics are semi distorted and wider, hence the widescreen.

My question is many new games are having widescreen adjustable graphics, anyone think that SC2 will have this?

    Thanks.

Hard to tell. Blizzard wants their games to be fair so they might not allow widescree play because the people with widescreens would be ableto see more and thus have an advantage.

The game seemed to be running at a fairly high resolution at BlizzCon, and I somewhat doubt they would lower it after months and months of development. I personally hope they go for 1024x768+ with an option to scale.

I do remember someone saying that the game would support widescreen, but I imagine all of this, like everything else in the game, is still very much up in the air.

i think 1024x768 would be standard, 800x600 option im guessing will be there but 1024 will be the standard size

From what I've found in my system requirements searches, and from the opinions of a few friends in the gaming industry, SC2 will probably go with the 1024x768 resolution with an adjustable resolution size.

It is also supposed to support widescreen, and from what I've heard that is something that Blizzard is set on achieving.

So if your monitor isn't the best, or your video card won't support a high resolution, don't worry about it. But as has been the official word from Blizzard, you're going to need at least a 128 MB Video Card. Don't try to scrounge by on less than that.

The memory thing should not be a problem. 512Mb is becoming the norm and mainstream cards will probably have 1GB by the time SC2 hits shelves.

The game won't be PC intensive and if you computer doesn't meet the requirements of it you should probably throw it away since most programs require 4x as much hardware as Blizzard games

Well Warcraft III had a gigantic list of possible screen resolutions. I'm sure it will be no different with SCII.

This is sortof related to resolution, Do you think the buildings will be as big as they are in many of the pictures, like Zoomed in eg(WARCRAFT 3) or more like the original starcraft? ive also noticed that in the mini map the orignial square of where your screen is located is many differnt shapes depending on your angle of view will that be adjustable and will zoom do you tihnk?
