I have lost multiple times to roach rushes. I can not seem to beat this rush. What do I do? I have been told to get collosus but by that time they have already rushed.

Zelots with charge will do the trick, especially since they are a tier 1 unit they will prolly be your best bet

    Immortals eats roaches for breakfest.
Stalkers are also good if you can kite them and let the immortal soak up the damage.
If you aren´t ready, you could warp in a couple of sentries to forcefield your ramp.

Roach rush, so charge isn't a viable answer.
It's possible to get an immortal early on (depending how fast the rush is), however I would use stalkers and sentries.

Stay up your ramp and forcefield the THE BOTTOM of the ramp to prevent them gaining any vision.
If you feel like you can't react in time to make a forcefield, have a zealot stand outside.

I think stalkers are the best answer to roaches at all. Look at this video featuring WhiteRa against Machine. They had a few nice games. With great micro you can easily win with stalkers against roaches

It's really up to you how you want to counter roach. In SC2 SCOUTING is important! You would most likely have a few zealots in early stages before responding to the scout. If you know early roaches are coming, you have 3 ways to deal with it( alot of waysXD)
    1. zealots + sentries (3-4gate push)
Easiest build to do with almost no skill required. Get a few zealots for any early zergling run bys/rush, and start pumping out sentries whenever you get 100 gas(don't forget warpgate tech). Pump zealots when you don't have enough gas, and move out. FF around roaches
and zealots go in and sentires will melt them. Since they didn't expand you'll have the lead. If it's an earlier roach push, start building units before the 3rd gate, and don't build the 4th gate, until the first push is pushed back successfully.

    2. Stalkers + sentries
Just one or two sentries is needed here to block off the ramp depending on the ramp, for your stalkers to build up to counter any roach attack. Simple and clean like suggested by other people. Only thing is if you decide to push later, you can get blink, and abuse the roach range hard.

    3. Immortal
Really it's gate-> core-> robotics bay-> 2 gates. Make sure you have at least two sentries before the 2 gates are going up, because you NEED to block off your ramp, because the immortal coming out is really slow. You HAVE to chrono boost the immortal. Once it is out, you should be fine.
