If there is a demo, you should try Maelstrom. Not really my taste (and not really suitable for my PC either *cough*) but it's certainly a unique game that you need to try if you're looking for an RTS game.

Company of Heroes and World in Conflict. You'll need a pretty good PC to play those, but they're the best RTS's recently. And Dawn of War: 40k too. All of them awesome, but they don't come close to Starcraft.

    Universe at war.

Nothing spells win like when your factorise destroy the enemy's factories

    Best game since Starcraft

I recommend DoW Dark Crusade, but it's quite different from other RTS games, so try a demo first.

I would recommend Supreme Commander. Hundreds of unit types, thousands in game, insane grapichs, endless gameplay etc.

The only downside is that you need a NASA pc to really enjoy it without lag. :p
That's why Starcraft rulez, even my pocket calculator can run Starcraft with ease. ;)

Also Supreme Commander will take half your lifetime to learn, and the other half you'll try to play people just when it has gone out of style

It's not that hard to master it... You just have to WANT to master it, if you can't appreciate the gameplay, then don't play it. ;) You have to more skillful to become a good Starcraft player then to become a good Supreme Commander player. It's entirely up to you.

I guess it's not hard to master, it, it just takes a ridiculously long time. I remember my first couple of attempts at playing this game.

"Uhhh, to upgrade your factory you have to press this button, right? Ahhhhh! Why did those numbers in the corner turn red? Where are all the resources? What units are you supposed to use? etc. etc."

True. But if you read the manual before you start playing it's much easier.
    (yes, I read manuals ;))

Only 2 days left to spend all of my money on pc hardware upgrades then...
Lol, I doubt if it will even be worth it, maybe everyone should just save up money to buy the best stuff there is when Starcraft 2 comes out...
