Just to be clear... Normal maps - just a normal melee battle where you have to destroy the enemy buildings. Resource gathering maps - maps where you're required to gather a certain amount of resources to win Hero-oriented maps - normal maps with heroes, with some hero-specific objectives, such as hero 1 must survive, hero 2 must get to the beacon, etc. Tactical maps - maps where you have to reach a certain objective with only the units and possibly heroes you are given in the beginning, and possibly as reinforcements. No way to build buildings or gather resources. Timed maps - any of the above that have a time limit. Secret-unlocking maps - maps that unlock additional levels, cutscenes, whatever. I chose Tactical maps, because with the new editor and whatnot, the levels would be completely ingenious. Secret unlocking maps come in a close second.
well, since it has been years for the 3 races not even laying a bullet at each other, there should be maps that has low on resources. surely each race has already exploited every patch of resources left in every planet just preparing for the coming war. so i picked tactical maps.
I voted resource gathering, because my first RTS/computer game was pretty heavy into that, so it is something I actually get a kick out of doing. Please don't point and giggle! To be honest, I want to play like 10 of each of them. I want just... a huge-o-mungus campaign...ok?!
I'm with Gui Montag. I want to see some sick tactical maps, some awesome hero-oriented maps, some normal, old-fashioned butt-kicking maps, timed and secret-unlocking, and maybe even resource gathering. I didn't actually vote because I am unable to pick just one.
Tactical maps, without a doubt. I always loved playing those "installation" maps in the campaigns, especially the one where you get to play as Duran in the UED campaign and hunt down Stukov. That was just pure awesome.
Thats a good one, but the one in which you steal the battlecrusiers is much more tactic. Its the father af all the "impossible" use map settings maps.
yeah I love tactical maps and the way you are outnumbered but save right before you go into a room and then die, then load and go at it a different way, etc. it's really strategy at its best
HAha you got it. Maybe we should all pay like whatever SC2 will cost (50$)? Then play untill we loose. Once we loose our cd key is invalidated so we are not able to play anymore. We will have to pay again for a new copy of the game, and if we loose, we loose the game too. That would be quite intresting.
Suck? I thought it was a good idea. Reminds me of something I heard once: "Life is not a video game, kid. You cant load your last game every time you screw up." -Aristotle.
i never liked tactical maps much. they were ok though... i liked the old hero maps, you have to make sure that your hero doesn't get killed, he or she must be defended just as much as your base. secret maps as a close second
