    I noticed ~5 ppl who goes into this part of the forum...
    So i wanna get to know you guys :p

    What Is your Passion for Mapping?

    For me, it is the thrill of playing an idea that fits me perfectly, and also seeing new maps that are simply strokes of geniuses (lol pluraled) .. i.e. Blood Pressure Marathon...
    Also, great maps such as Mini-game Party and etc. are just so fun.. they never make SC Boring =O...

    When Sc2 comes out, i wanna be the first person to make Random Fighters/Unit Battle heheheh.... Of course i'd give credit to ol' Twisted (who switches clans more than underwears btw) for making random unit battle. It'd be a great way to learn the mechanics of the new units =)...

    If you guys can, post why u still map, and what you will probably do in SC2 =D (Since this is sc2forum, not staredit)

    I love map making because I love mixing other game genre's into an RTS. Which I find to be really cool. I dont map make in SC anymore just map make in WC3 since theres my variety.

    BTW your username is GENIOUS

    I have way too much imagination and know how to programme.
    Although it takes a couple of days to map make, it's really quick and easy.

    My first on Sc2 would probably be a Lotrish.
    I love those maps :eek:

    i just want to have fun making them and i want to give some lulz to people playing it

    my maps features us forum members to the most serious yet comical way of playing a mission in SC

    im still working on the sequel, sorry guys

    My passion for map making entails a lot of things. I like to create stuff and StarCraft Campaign Editor provided me another outlet to do what I like to do. It turned out that the beginning of my mapping career was a bit bumpy but as I grew to know the map editor and later advanced versions, I began to figure out what I can and can't do.

    I continue to make maps (well I barely finish them now) in preparation for StarCraft 2. I want to establish a namesake for myself and the site. I really doubt I will be able to complete anything before anyone else in StarCraft 2 however I will be there to innovate :)

    Huh? what'd u mean betray? The new version's balanced by Moose. And Now he gave it back to me so i can work on the next version.. I never betrayed it :S.. it's still pretty good. Go DL v1.4M in staredit.net ...

    and HEY, TEMPLE SIEGE v2.0 IS MINE .. Go away!!

    and to Imagine. .. we all had bumpy starts ;).. Altho, mine was very thrilling =D... cause I edited Pylon Def to pylon Def Alpha land XD.. and it was very famous.. Everyone was playing it and that got me really happy... Then was Nexus D v5, but strikerx22 took it and made v6 without giving any credit... (Yes i haven't forgiven you yet) ... then yeah.. I guess Temple Siege is pretty famous nowadays too i dunno. :p. But still, I just wish I can come up with smth original like Blood Pressure Marathon... Such a noob map, yet it's so fun XD

    Well, because of staredit's lack of... uh, diversity? I begun mapping in Warcraft 3... Most of my maps remain under my control (i'm to lazy to upload them to the net) nothing much of mine gets seen. I've only ever put one map on the net (Simbob's War) and if you wanna see it (It's a crappy old version btw) search epicwar.com...

    In starcraft 2 i have no idea what i'll make... An rpg would be cool, but they do take a lot of work. I find terraining and editing units the funnest though. And with the ability to link maps together over battle.net in starcraft 2 I think an extremely epic RPG is due... :D

    But what i think would be fun is a zombie survival type map. Thats what I think I'm gunna make first. Mainly because the amount of triggers needed is so small in comparison to most other maps! :p

    Oh and we should totally start a community map... That'd be super sweet....

    I am working on a website dedicated to the mapmaking for Starcraft 2:

    It's unofficial until the end of this year, as the demo is still in progress.
    The aim of this project is to enable mappers and gamers to meet to discuss the maps (and maybe the mods), and to ideally organise tournaments on custom maps (and maybe mods as well). To gather the best documentation and tools around the SC2 level editor, and to push the creative community to do its best with what I believe will probably be the best RTS level editor so far.

    I am interested in mapping and modding for around six years now.
    I did some SC1 maps a decade ago, but never uploaded them online, and can't find them. Not a big deal though.

    My map makeing has been very basic when i started.. only usleing the better editors to make RPGS and AI's and make units spwan when u hit a point..

    But imagine taught me alot and I randomly made Prison Defense oneday, and wow its an amazing map
    He also says that im a fast learner when it comes to map makeing. i went from being sloppy to professional looking in about a month and a few days.

    But as of now.. My RPG game is fun.... and i tried my Random Unit Arena last night and ppl said its a downgraded of a nother map like that. And i was like oh :(, so Imagine ionnno if my Random Unit Arena will fly ><. But I think for now im gunna stick to defence games i think I have a new D map comin out ( Random Path Defence). But its not random lol they still follow a Made path but it goes in all directions and teleport starts ETC. but once i get the 1 kill per 1 Gas and 10 gas per 1 mineral thing worked out i should be ok... I dont usually like Switches as much.. So i try to avoid them, Ill make 3 triggers for the same action.. Juss to avoid a trigger. lol

    for the 1 kill per 1 gas.. you use killscore.. when you have at least 1 killscore, set killscore to 0, and add 1 gas... This is bad since if u killed two units at the same time, you'll only get 1 gas.

    Fine Temple Siege 2.1 it is. Can I just have a copy of 1.0 to mess around with? I want to see it from the beginning, without protection.

    EDIT: I'm probably worse than most of you guys out there.
    EDIT 2:ImaGinE give me some tips! LOL I'll take them from anyone, esp. some terrain and triggering stuff. I really need help. :wacko:

    Well what Imagine said to me.. SCMdraft.. i think its SCM lol has a good tileset for Terrain. u can make 1x1 squares to 14x14 and it has awesome terrain abilities.

    Having this idea. i wanna make a SCMdraft Tut. for Terrain makeing :D thanks for the idea Arven lol

    My passion for map-making... hmm. I guess it's the idea that, all by myself, I have designed terrain, gameplay, and a little bit of programming for something that could provide hours of time spent gaming. Hours that weren't a complete waste of time.

    ...I guess it's the sense of accomplishment.

    As for SC2, expect to see my name (or my aka R.I.S.K) all over Risk maps, along with some Capture The Flag variants.

    No, it should be easier. I head that the "current player" option works wonders now. AND I think they added Hero levels and spells. YAY!

    That means 120 Switches (6 players, 20 levels) for levels gone, and one building/unit, one-six locations, and one location OR 72 switches ( 6 players, 12 heroes) to 96 switches (6 players, 16 heroes). Phew
    At most that would be a GRAND TOTAL OF 214 SWITCHES SAVED!

    And there's unlimited switches and locations! Well, there's probably a limit. Planning Battlegrounds for SC II now.

    There's still a lot that i can complain about the map editor and what new things can be implimented...
    I'll save that for another thread..

    but here's one... Why Square Locations Only? :S (maybe it's a bit hard on the programming) but I'd really like a circular location
