Also: did you play the game? The UED came to do just that, but the Terrans rejected their help and the UED claim of prime political and military might that came with it.
So I do not really undertsand what you want to discuss here? This is a tad to vague for me.

Broke my brood war cd about two years after i bought it so i haven't played in a long
time. But are you saying that the Ued are from actual Earth in the story. Are they actually the Humans that sent the terrans into this sector of space?
Because terrans are differnent than humans they have a different gene pool and mutations having been isolated.
