What do you think will happen at Blizzcon?

Nah...its too early for zerg to be revealed. Most likely what'll happen will be them revealing the Terran officially with a gameplay video and you might see a new zerg unit or two. After that they'll most likely reveal the other game that they're working on as well.

 

Im 80% certain that they'll allow you to play all three races and they'll revel that 'other' game that they are working on

I think that the main point of BlizzCon will be SCII, with the emphisis on Terran. Maybe abilities, Medics, new names for the Viking Fighter (PLEASE GOD!!), and the like.

 

I highly doubt that Blizzard is going to make the Zergs a playable race at the demo.

What I see them doing is a video similiar to the WWII, where they introduce all the new Terran units/mechanics, and they do battle against the Zergs. They will show some old units/new units here and there for the Zergs, but we won't learn much about them just yet. The amount of Zerg info that we would learn in totally would be similiar to the amount of info that Blizzard released for the Terrans in WWII.

But what I'm certain is that we will get to see the Hydralisk first hand at BlizzConn because they are the symbol of the Zerg species, but yet, we still haven't seen what they look like in game.

On the other hand, I would like to see the Zergs get an upper hand in one of the screenshot/video battle. The poor Zergs are always getting hammered in every screenshot/video. :-\

 

No. Quiet Fenix. I'm one of the fans that are hoping for Diablo III.

I'd love to see another 20 minute video but replace the Protoss with Terran.

 

there will be a starcraft 2 hands on so definitely we will get a new gameplay video (maybe of the terrans and few zergs too).

announcement of new blizzard titles that currently being develop or under production (diablo 3 maybe.)

cant wait for the new siege tank look and thor in gameplay too.

 

apparently they are rumored to be working on diablo 3 so they might reveal some info...if its true.

 

Zerg are still in the design phase so im 100% sure they wont be playable as race.. Terrans and protoss im sure will be playable and they will prolly show us the hydra (which is everyones favorite multipurpose unit correct?) Hopefull we will get to see what the Nydus worm does. Diablo 3 is prolly the next game being made. I hope medics are back. "MEDIC!"

 

if they do a big reveal on the zerg, then their wont be much left for the next couple of years lol

True. But I think showing some Zerg units/mechanics isn't too far stretched. Besides, beta might start up pretty soon (my estimate is around end of the year), and if that is the case, revealing the Zerg at BlizzConn wouldn't be too far stretched either.

 

Diablo 3, *sigh* I wish. It's probably not going to happen, cuz of Hellgate: London, that being from the same team that made Diablo.

 

Dude, when do you think the game is coming out, when we all retire? Anyways, I heard from and insider interview that they have een playing with Zerg for a while. I also hear the german magazine was wrong about zerg being in concept phase.

I'm thinking the game will come out just before the ten year anniversary of SC.

 

... you seem to know more than everyone else Ale, maybe you can enlighten us as to where blizzard has said that the only thing left is single player and balancing.

 

No point discussing with you guimontag, first of all you claim Blizzcon is not created for them to make a financial benefit, then you claim that Zerg is not finished even though theyve said that all 3 are playable in multiplayer. Its like you have no grasp of whats happening, or you simply refuse to acknowledge this. I dont know more than anyone, i just make guesses that at least have some sort of logic behind them.

Well if all 3 races are playable in multiplayer, what else do you think needs work, more than balancing/removing/adding units and work on the singleplayer?

I knew that german magazine article was a pile of junk the moment they claimed Zerg was in concept stage..right after the roundtable interview when a developer clearly said all 3 were playable lol, the only interview/media session that has some credibility is the 1up as you see him interview them personally.

By the way, im sick of people taking away power levels simply because they cant come up with any form of arguments or feedback to posts...pretty lame to be honest..

 

I don't think all 3 will be playable at Blizzcon since the 1UP guys could only play toss. Hopefully you can play terran at BlizzCon.

 

Ale87: Just because the race is playable in multiplayer doesn't mean that it is not still under development. It does not mean that it is anywhere near complete. It is incredibly easy for a big game house like Blizzard to throw something together that it playable, even on multiplayer, but it takes an incredible amount of time to test and design it to a presentable level. This is what they mean by "concept phase."

At any rate, I don't see Zerg being playable at BlizzCon. Yes, it is possible for Blizzard to make it playable, but they'll want to do more work on the race, as well as save the goodies for later press releases.

 

We dont know if by playable they mean finished, but we are not certain of the opossite. We will see in time. Just stop trying to pretend you are the "L337 ST all knowing GoSuS". Maybe Ale is assuming crap, but it doesnt really matter.
Theres nothing as dumb as fighting for a computer game about how much of it is complete already.

By the way, f**k you and your sarcasm, montag. You think you are so smart, but as I said before we are talking about a game, not nuclear physics. No one cares how logical and coherent your thoughts are. We know little here, thats the whole fun of it. Theres no need to be or act smart here.

 

It'd be nice for them to give us another cinematic trailer, you know... to compensate for the Zerg not being in full play. A short battle scene maybe, with Protoss? If that's too much to ask then just elongate the scene we already saw in the first cinematic with the marines preparing to fire and the huge mushroom clouds. To see what they're actually shooting at.

 

I'd love to see some 'lings go all frenzied up and about on a pack of marines. If they make another cinematic trailer, that is.
