Since i'm a noob to the forums and don't know how to make polls, i'm just wondering if you guys like the marine bayonette. Yes? No? Explain.
It's seems like it would be of absolutely no use because everything the marine fights would be way too big for the bayonette (including other marines in their power suit), and I don't like it as a decoration... Are you sure it's still on the marine? I'll have to look at some screenshots. =)
I agree. If a gauss rifle takes forever to kill one hydralisk, i doubt some little spike on the end of the gun is gonna do much.
nope. looks weird, seems weird too, as rines DONT MELEE also, i doubt that the muscles of a marine wud be powerful enough to plunge the blade fast and strong enough to do ANY damage. and wat alasdair said too
1. Old news 2. If the current Marine model still has a bayonet, it'll probably just be an aesthetic animation that will replace rifle fire when a unit happens to be in melee range. An example is the Hydralisk's scythe attack: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtO5WSoLD6M&feature=player_embedded
Haha, yeah indeed. I mean, a Gauss Rifle is, after all, an insanely powerful rifle driven by a magnetic rail system. I can't really see how a bayonet helps much. It'd be like lifting a truck with an extra finger. xD Anyways, I haven't seen too many bayonette pictures, but I have seen the shield alot. Maybe it's a choice thing - armor versus added melee attack.
Old topic, but I just gotta put my two cents in. It's quite a bit easier to drive a spike through a Hydra's brain than to shoot it, assuming that the marine's suits are augmented. You don't have to compensate for drag, gravity, or ricochets.
