baneling bust...long story short SD's aren't good for walloff against Z with this tactic. I think it only takes 4 banelings to blow it out. A siege right next to you wall-in at the choke probably would have stopped it cold, only other thing is to put a half dozen or so rines on the ramp and let them soak the baneling strike and let the remaining forces clear the lings. I dunno, I don't play T much anymore but those seem like two viable strats. Looked like you op was not teching at all so if you put together a good composition to kill lings (rines, hellions and tanks) you probably could have marched right through his bases.
i realised that he was undefended when he was putting down his expand. should have applied pressure. also,is it good to scout using SCVs are the start or...?
Depends...with Z it's probably a good idea to send an early scout to see if they are 6 pooling. if they are then you gotta get a Rax up ASAP and try to get 2-3 rines out. I usually try to scout Z early to see if they are trying an all in / cheese tactic (6-pool, 6 roach rush, baneling bust). Since I mostly play as P the baneling bust doesn't quite have teh same effect since P can't wall in like a T. 6 pools are a nightmare though. Another thing...I'm no where near an expert so YMMV. I'm just telling it like I see it. I know I have a lot of bleeds in my game.
ok so im going to try going pretty in depth here. first why did you scout? ( this is not a trick question im an advocate of not scouting unless you need to know something specific and at your apm level it is hard to both scout and do the stuff you need to do i cant do it well either though.) so heres some key stuff with this 3 rax factory idea you could have built your second rax 1 min faster your 3 rax 1 min faster and also your factory 1 min fast ( each rax can make 2.5 marines in that amount of time and the ractored factory can make 4 hellions) this means you could have had aprox 5 more marines and 4 hellions at the time he came. secondly don't rely on the wall to save you. also the main this that caused you do die is that you moved all your marines into a baneling this can be fixed by having them attack move rather than move and also having you guys at the wall and a bit back. the first idea i beleive would have made an easy win in that battle for you rather than a big defeat as 4 hellions is rather alot. lastly dont queue units it gives you the false impression that you are doing good macro and spending you money when in fact you are not because it just money that being held doing nothing.
Ahh, yes the classic Baneling Bust. Actually that was a lousy baneling bust since he is supposed to run the banelings up to attack the barracks which destroys the supply depots. Not send the zerglings in to finish the job and then have the zerglings around the banelings before they explode. First of all do not think you shouldn't wall off because you always need to when facing zerg to prevent the early zergling rush. Also you should not be building that many structures early in the game. Sticking to 3 producion buildings works best. Hellions are very good against zerglings and banelings but you need to know how to micro them. Do this by firing and pulling back so you don't let them catch your hellions.
