What are you expecting from Starcraft 2?

Many thinks the answer to this question is obvious, however I'm pretty sure we will be surprised by the results. Personally, I'm not too sure about how it's going to be.. I'm thinking it could be worse than the original... I'll have to play it at least once to be sure of what I think. We can have some very big surprises once it's done and for sell. I think no one should be blind and be amazed by this new game.. we are slowly learning more about it.. but we still didn't play it.

So, what do you think? what are you expecting?

 

im gonna have to say a half step up from option three because, while blizzard made the original game and has learned from it to make this sequel, other companys have learned from Starcraft too. so it will be an amazing sequel and an amazing game, but probably not the overall best.

 

from the feedback from blizzcon i think we can expect that it will be funner than the original. so i voted best of 2000's because we all know sc3 will be 10x more awsome

 

Starcraft will own. nothing more to be said

 

Blizzard has a really good track record for their games popularity so i would expcet SC2 to be really good/popular. But in my opinion i think it would be hard to make any kind of guess until we know more aabout the zerg and more final information in general. Because right now there are some detractors that could keep the game from being the best it can but these things could change in the near future.

 

About a month ago, I would have picked on of the first two options (I went with the third).....

lolz Bio is k but Bliz's StarC2 UbErPWaNS it. This game will be good no mater what, the zerg will be pretty much the same noobish zergling rushers that never learn and get pwned because all their resorces are dead by the time I get to their Hatchery. StarC2 will be best game in the 2000's definatly, but ever? Maybe not.

i expect sc2 to go beyond...if you know what im saying

 

i think its going to be a good rts and thats all....... probably not the best game ever or of the 2000's especially when ps3, wii, xbox are gaining momentum...

 

it really depends on how you classify the 'best' game. with all blizzard games, they grow in popularity for years and years after they are released, with dedicated players that play several hours a day for years. The real test of starcraft2 will be whether new base building rts games that come out 4-6 years later will make players stop playing.

I'm just praying every night that my hopes and dreams are not shattered. There have been countless sequel that made me want to cry, one actually succeeding....

The best game ever.

Blizzard's always done well with sequels.

Warcraft 1. Hard to play with slow game speed and you can't really mass attack.
Warcraft 2. Adjustable game speed, more complex gameplay but still simple. Focuses on army VS army. You can get tactical.
Warcraft 3. Took the most brains of them all with 4 unique races that have different units... and gasp! Heroes!

Diablo 1. Deep storyline. Easy to learn. Multiple unique characters. Solid online play.
Diablo 2. Has the same story but you dig even deeper into it. Again, easy to pick up and play. Even more classes that can fill multiple roles. Even bigger online play.

Starcraft 1. Canned sex.
Starcraft 2. Lemon flavoured canned sex.

Add some vanilla and cherry flavors.

SC2 had better rock the socks. I've been playing this game since I was 8. They haven't done crap since then. This had better be good or someone may die. Slowly.

 

While that is true, I wouldn't second guess blizzards ability perfect novel ideas and put them to good use in SC2. I think the campaign mode interactions on the hyperion look really, really interesting and will add a new dimension to the game. And that's just from what we know already. Who knows what they're still hiding?

Since WC3 had different races of boxes can SC2 have different flavors of canned sex? Lemon just doesn't do it for me.

I think it will be a very good sequel, but def not the game of the 2000's. Maybe the game of the year. Don't get me wrong, I still think that another 5 years of my life will be thrown away because of it

Erm, no offense, but what's so deep with the Diablo storyline? I find the WC storyline much more intriguing.

i think it'll be a fine game... maybe not "best game ever" but it definatly won't be a normal rts.

 

It's gonna be the best game ever. Until StarCraft 3 comes out.
